We just got back to the States from Cambodia. Our stay at the Shinta Mani was one of the highlights of our visit.

The hospitality at the hotel was unbelievable. Every staff person from the doormen (bearing perfumed, wet towels) to the man painting the halls, was genuinely welcoming. And our room was lovely. We loved the Khmer inspired architecture of the building. It was simple and elegant.

Renee, the hostess, was most helpful and attentive. She found a way to help us, when we ran low on cash; one of the front desk people wrapped our souvenir throw (instrument) for safe travel and another front desk employee volunteered to drive us to a restaurant, when it was too dark to walk.

A sumptuous breakfast was served every morning and the food was delicious. The servers were delightful. We ate dinner several nights across the street in the new restaurant. Good food and wonderful conversation with the wait staff.

As we learned and saw more of the country, it became very important to us that the hotel ran a foundation to help educate the local people. Be sure to venture up to the first floor of the old building to visit the classrooms and talk to the students. Visiting the room where the girls, who were rescued from trafficking, were making jewelry was very moving. I actually ordered some on line, when I got home.

In summarizing, staying at the Shinta Mani was a wonderful experience. It captures the spirit of Cambodia and its people. LR

This hotel is a comfortable walking distance to the Old Market/ Pub Street and the National Museum. It is a very cute and modern hotel with all the amenities you could ask for. The pool is very refreshing with excellent and efficient table service, the breakfast was overwhelmingly delicious with so many options to choose from for food choices and the rooms are so comfortable and luxurious.

The hotel staff is friendly, always smiling and happy to help with anything you might need.

This is wonderful place, excellent service, superb experience. The location is very good near to the shopping areas, eating joints and centrally located in a quite locality. The staff is very good and always available for any help and attentive to the needs. I loved the aroma in the corridors. I had a late night flight, the hotel gave me a room to stay till evening without any charge and no questions asked. This was a very touching gesture. A very highly recommended place to stay.

Room Tip: Stay in Shinta Mani club and in a room facing the pool

The hotel, the staff, the restaurant and the spa are all perfect. It has been the best stay we have experienced ever. The attention to detail is amazing, in service as well as in hotel design. Location is good as well, close to pub street and the markets. Tuk tuks are widely available and a great way of transportation.

The Shinta Mani was created by Bill Bensley in a modern stylish Angkor design. On arrival we were greeted with cold towels and freshly squeezed orange and carrot juice. When we set off for the day we were asked whether we needed an umbrella and drinking water and on our return, cold towels were presented. We stayed in a poolside superior room and loved it. The service was impeccable and friendly. Breakfast buffet and a-la carte although not large was of a very good standard and the best we had in 2 weeks traveling through Indochina. The dinner menu at the hotel Kroya restaurant was of a good standard.
