“The best service....ever!!!”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

We really felt that this was a wonderful hotel in terms of service.
- Every member of the team would remember our room number.
- There was a lovely touch of a complimentary continental breakfast in the early hours of the morning if you were getting up fro a tour.
- They were able to book a spot in a very popular restaurant for us during our short stay.
- When are AC broke down they moved us to another room for the night and had mechanics fixing the unit in our room the first thing the next day.
- To top this all off when I left me watch in the safe - they sent someone to drive it to the airport with no talk of cost.

And all of this was done in a manner that it was no trouble at all.

The hotel itself was very unique in its design, very different form most of the others we saw and I can see why it is a Mr & Mrs Hotel. We loved the fact that it was on a street off the main road yet a 10 minute walk to the main hub of Siem Reap.

Highly recommend this hotel if you like modern, stylish, fantastic service, wonderful incense smells and a good nights sleep

Room Tip: Maybe choose a room on the higher levels away from the pool and the main walk ways

What a pleasant surprise! We couldn't get over the genuine friendliness of the staff who were so professional at the same time. The line of thinking of the training program run by the foundation is first class - world first class that is. We have travelled all over the world and cannot match this with any other. The room was excellent and we couldn't hear the airconditioner at night which meant we were able to sleep well. The service was wonderful. The food was excellent - and for those Aussies craving vegemite - guess what - there it was at the breakfast bar!
Congratulations to all at Shinta Mani - not sure when we will be able to return but certainly look forward to it.
Once again well done everyone.
Kind regards,
Pam and Warwick Bull - Melbourne. Australia.

Room Tip: Our room was delightful. We couldn't hear the airconditioner at night so were able to sleep

Our four night stay at Shinta Mani was really wonderful. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Our room had the most comfortable bed with gorgeous linens. The unusual fresh flowers in the room were such a treat. The room was spotless at all times. Our only issue was the rather complex central control panel for the electrics within the room, I had to wait for my husband to turn off my bedside light when I wanted to go to sleep! The delicious breakfasts (we became eggs Benedict/Florentine obsessed) set us up for our extremely full days.
As for the staff, they were warm, friendly and exceptionally welcoming at all times. We were treated like royalty and nothing was too much trouble. The entire ethos of the not for profit Shinta Mani Foundation shines through and is evident when talking with the infectiously enthusiastic general manager Christian who clearly wishes his staff to succeed in their roles and develop realistic goals for the future.
I can’t stop telling everyone how much we loved Cambodia its people and Shinta Mani. Truly a highlight of our trip.

AFter reading the other reviews I wondered if I was staying in the same hotel. My hubby and I stayed two nights in what was supposedly the "new boutique" hotel. The design was very nice. The rest not so much. The room was not clean. Sink top in the bathroom was never cleaned during the time we were there. Floors were not very clean. Cookies??? I have no idea what folks are talking about. The seating in the restaurant area was uncomfortable… I am not talking about the swinging seats and tables but in the actual restaurant - the only air conditioned area. There was no where to really relax and have a drink in the evening. There were three available spots… the restaurant which had uncomfortable seating, an upstairs area where there was no one to serve us and the pool. We ended up sitting next to the pool… The staff were very nice but we were disappointed in the hotel overall. This was our last stop of a 16 day trip through Vietnam and Siem Reap and this was probably the most disappointing hotel of all we stayed in. The last day we had lunch across the street at the "other" Shinta Mani. Perhaps we would have been better off staying on that side. If you go, do check out both facilities to see which one you prefer. I would not recommend this hotel though.

I stayed at Shinta Mani in August 2013 and it is the best hotel i have ever stayed in. It has character that cannot be find in a global chain hotel. The rooms were luxurious with the biggest bed I've ever seen, ipod dock and wonderful shower. The pool is wonderful for cooling off and the staff at the poolside bar are attentive and friendly.

We arrived many trips through the hotel including sunrise trips to angkor wat and a car trip to kampung phluk floating village, all of which went seamlessly and they even provided a special breakfast at 4:30 am for us! The staff are locals trained by the hotel foundation and they really do everything they can to make your stay exceptional, so many smiles. The location is good, a v short tuk tuk ride to Pub St.

I think Cambodia was my favourite country on our travels around SE Asia and the staff are a glowing example of how wonderful the Cambodian people are.

I am just finishing up my 4-night stay at the Club property. Cold fragrant towels each time you step foot back at the hotel. Cold bottles of water each time you depart. Smiles and sincere greetings from staff. I felt appreciated as a guest (a rare thing). Breakfast is simply outstanding, including sparkling wine! Free minibar with Cokes, soda water, beer, water, juices and nuts. Laundry done perfectly and same day. Nightly turn down with a treat. In room tea and coffee. Good safe that fit my laptop. iPod dock (you'll need to bring an adapter if you have iPhone 5 or higher). Nice music playing when you enter room the first time. Lovely lotus flower arrangement in room. 2 oranges in room for your enjoyment with plate, napkin and utensils. Bed is wonderfully comfortable. Plenty of hot water and powerful A/C. Great linens. Comfy bed. Little noise (and I was right across from restaurant and bar). If you can't find the hairdryer, it's in a drawer in the wardrobe. No need for adapter as electrical outlets accept US standard plugs (ensure you don't need a converter before you plug in, of course!). Nice lap pool; cold drinking water just materializes when you sit in a lounge chair. If I'm in Siem Reap ever again, I will stay here.
