My friend ad I stayed for two nights last week and were thoroughly delighted by this beautiful little hotel and the wonderfully warm and courteous staff - they made us feel so important as we were greeted each time we came in with cool drinks and so refreshing cold towels. The décor is smart and austere, all back and white with touches of orange, very stylish. Most comfortable rooms with all the amenities of a first class hotel. We saw the lap pool and gardens but didn't have time to sample, but we had the most delicious breakfast with choices of local and western cuisine and glass of French champagne if you were up to it. Before we checked out we had the most amazing pedicure and just wished we didn't have to ruch for the airport otherwise we would have had a full massage. Can thoroughly recommend the pedicure and the hotel. Good location and tuk tuks readily available.

'Welcome Home', the staff say as they smile and help you with your luggage out of your car/tuk tuk in the hotel's driveway. And straight away you're offered a much needed refreshing cool fragrant towel. Even after just the short journey from the airport in their air conditioned car, that refreshing cool towel is so welcome.

Even if you're not aware you're into architecture, you can't help but be impressed by the Bill Bensley design of this hotel - the ceiling height, sleek lines, muted whites and greys, black tiled swimming pool (so cool), doorways reminiscent of Angkor Wat temple doors (you'll see the resemblance as soon as you go to Angkor Wat) and the cool marble corridors, with lotus flowers placed on pedestals in bowls, petals so neatly folded by a group of women daily.

It's a real haven, coming in from the hustle and bustle of the streets and markets, traffic and tuk tuk drivers calling to you, and away from the heat too.

Our room was really stylish and well appointed - the mattress and bed were super - enormous and so comfortable, the air conditioning was really well thought out, and we were both pleasantly cool but not freezing or sweating - which we found in all the other hotels we stayed in on this trip to Cambodia - the only minor things we thought could improve it, would be a towel rail (otherwise where do we hang wet towels?) or different choices of music to listen to. Hardly a deal breaker.

We were lucky enough to meet the chef, and he was gorgeous; he was so grateful for the opportunities he has been given, to travel abroad and learn to chef, to earn good money, work for a hotel he clearly loves and to provide a good education and future for his children.

If the weather isn't too stifling you can walk into town from here, but we always preferred a tuk tuk as we love the air rushing past our faces and to be 'in and amongst' it all.

We were lucky to be there on a Saturday, so were able to go to Made in Cambodia, a really well thought through Saturday market selling ethically made goods made locally, that support local communities and projects. We learned that Shinta Mani has been heavily involved in setting up and sustaining this market and it is so much better than shopping at the markets where goods may be made in Thailand or China, in unethical conditions or badly made. The quality of the items sold here is second to none, and you will know you have bought ethically, and shopped responsibly.

Room Tip: Our room was at the end of a wing, so we only had neighbours on one side which we always like.

The resort is amazing, the decor and the fixtures and finishings in the room were great. The pool was lovely and warm, and we cold have spent all day drinking their "open heart" signature cocktails. They were so warm and welcoming anytime we came into the hotel or even went out to the pool. Easily got us a tuk tuk into town and gave us some great recommendations. I would only stay here if I ever came back, it was that great!

Was there with my family for a 3 nights stay just earlier this week and it was a most delightful stay. The staff all spoke very decent English and communication was never a problem. The hotel (Club) was very contemporary in design and the rooms were all very tastefully designed. We were upgraded to a deluxe garden room as the initial room booked was not large enough to accommodate an extra bed. This room could accommodate three adults very comfortably. TV channels were in abundance and my husband did not have to miss a single World Cup game as this channel was available as well. WIFI was good and free. Service was amazing although initially, we were quite uncomfortable with the extra attention accorded. Little thoughtful touches like serving you iced water and chilled fruits by the pool without even being asked for was very much appreciated. As the hotel is rather small, you cannot help but have to mingle with the staff who are around and about so at the end of Day 1, we found ourselves starting to get into the habit of greeting everyone we meet, fellow guests included. There is a pretty laid-back atmosphere but family with younger children should consider the Resort wing just directly across this property as the common space & pool are bigger and will allow kids more room to play around. The Club wing is more closed in, cosy and quiet and would be more suitable for solo travellers, couples or small families with older children. One gripe though is that mozzies are very much around so we could not use our balcony for the duration of the stay as we need to close the balcony doors just to keep them out. The hotel may wish to consider fogging it's premises. Guests may also need to take note to pack your own toothbrushes as these were not provided.
The pool is 23 m long and not very wide so at any one time, only two guests may use the lap pool comfortably (if you are doing laps, that is). However, it is very relaxing and of course, everyone is in Siem Reap for the spectacular temples and not just lazing by the pool. Spa is good and cheap (by SG standard) and the F&B quality is also fantastic. As we had a late evening return flight, we were provided with a complimentary room till our airport transfer arrived. On the last day of our stay, we walked across to the FCC for high tea and were pleasantly surprised that the waiting staff at FCC knew we were guests from the Shinta Mani Club. We were later told that the bell hop on learning that we were on our way to the FCC has called his friend at the FCC to expect us and have a ready table for us. Well this is really first class service! These are but examples of the little things that the staff at the Shinta Mani would do to go that extra mile for their guests and these are lessons to be learnt for the humble guests from other more developed countries who have forgotten primarily that it actually takes very little to make someone else's day a lot better and most importantly, oft times, we have forgotten to be nice and to SMILE....
The staff told me that they are working towards making Shinta Mani the best hotel in Cambodia and in Asia. Well, best of luck to all of you and I am sure that this will not be a dream. They can and will make it happen!

Room Tip: Deluxe garden view rooms backed out to a sports field that can be a bit noisy as there are pple play...

I have travelled extensively and NEVER encountered such
a congenial staff. From the sincere good morning from the first staff member you encounter to the ice cold towels and bottled water accompanied with a heartfelt Welcome Home when you return from a day of touring this hotel is a standout! Wonderful open architecture in the public areas. Quiet yet convenient location, within easy walk of Public Market and restraints. If you value great service in a boutique hotel you MUST stay at the Shinta Mai.
