Angkor Palace Resort & Spa
Ranked #82 of 372 Hotels in Siem Reap
Certificate of Excellence

It's have been 4 years that we brought our group to Siem Reap, definitely this is the best hotel that choose. Every year while we are back to this hotel, we feel like back home. The staff here treat us like family members with heart warming energy.

The hotel is built in a Cambodia style, with friendly, kind, and helpful hotel staff. Besides, the food quality in the restaurant is superb. The breakfast was good with a wide selection of cakes , bread , eggs, sausages , bacon , baked beans , salad , fruits , yougurt and of course the Cambodia noodle.

As for the room, it's not fancy or luxury style, the room is large, I felt very comfortable when I stayed in the room. If you like swimming, they have an comfortable and big pool for you enjoyed.

We stayed there for a week, and definitely will be back again next year!!

We were treated as stars. The staff were on hand to greet us in the foyer and bestow beautiful scarves upon us. They treated us with the uttermost respect and courtesy at all times.

Our spacious room was a welcome retreat from the heat outside. I loved the smell of the timber and of the furniture polish that greeted us each time we opened the door. The bowl of fresh fruit replenished daily was a welcome snack enjoyed after a rigorous scramble around the temples and their environs. The turn down service was a luxurious touch helping to make us feel very special guests.

I loved the Lotus flower arrangements in the public spaces and the spacious well kept gardens.

Breakfast was included in the tariff we paid and what a breakfast. All nationalities and all tastes were catered for. For me personally, the range of fresh fruit was wonderful and the bakery products absolutely delicious. My partner was delighted to find a range of breakfast cereals plus yogurt. The others in our party tucked into cooked dishes each day.

We stayed four nights and ate in the hotel twice. We were very impressed by the set menu of European dishes all cooked to perfection. We were equalled impressed by the Asian buffet and the opportunity to taste local dishes. A very large (around 150) group of people were expected later in the evening and the staff were preparing. Again, we were all impressed with the attention to detail and the manner in which this enormous group were handled during breakfast the next day. We would particularly like to acknowledge the attentiveness and courtesy extended to us by the dining room manager.

My partner and I enjoyed three lunches - one by the pool, one in the foyer and a packed lunch taken with us on a quad bike outing. I warmly recommend the spring rolls and the nut pie. Yummy.

We arranged with the hotel to use push bikes one day with excellent outcomes. We enjoyed the large pool on several occasions and found the pool staff very helpful.

My only regret in not having enough spare time to have a massage!

Room Tip: Anything overlooking the pool will be delightful.

We stayed at the Grand Soluxe in December 2011. I was a fantastic place with wonderful service. The service was excellent. There was a minor miscommunication on the pick-up from the airport, but one call sorted it out. They give you a royal welcome and continue to treat you graciously the whole stay.

Check-In, memorable and lovely. Rooms, big, clean and enchanting. The pool is spectacular and was never crowded while I was there. It is great hotel to come back from a day of Temple trekking. It depends what you are looking for, but the only drawback (or maybe advantage) is the hotel is not walking distance to town, you must use a bicycle rikshaw to get there. Again, this is a drawback only if you are looking to be in town.

We read on tripadvisor you can rent a rikshaw for whole day. We did that once, but found it constricting. First, you have to pre-determine a time and place. We were having such a fun filled evening, we were reluctant to go back. Moreover, we had to search for the rendezvous spot. The next night we took a one-way rikshaw there and found it more convenient and economical.

The buffet breakfast was quite the spread. It was able to satisfy myriad of diets in my group from halal, vegan, low cholesterol, and etc. The fruit was fresh and sweet. The breads & pastries were delectable. Plus there were a few halal & vegan restaurants in town that were tasty.

Overall, the service at this hotel was superb and the grounds are gorgeous. I still remember the Thai lemon-grass scent wafting through the room and hallways. Mind you, an excellent hotel on the outskirts of the city. Inshallah, we would love to return to the hotel and Siem Reap again, it was a splendid trip.
