Siem Reap Green Home Guesthouse
Ranked #106 of 508 Siem Reap B&B and Inns

There are some cheaper hotels out there but with all the perks, Green Home is unbeatable. We booked 3 nights and then stayed for an extra night. For $17/night, we get a room with balcony (and a huge living room that we never used), great location (relatively calm and 3 minutes biking from the main strip), free breakfast, free bike rental, free pickup from bus station.

The staff was always welcoming and helpful. The tuktuk driver Tony that they sent to the bus station for us had to wait a couple of hours because our bus ran late. He was very nice as well and if we had wanted to do the Angkor tour by tuktuk, we would definitely have gone with him. (We biked instead.)

And yes, the stairs are steep, good practice for climbing Angkor temples though :)

The staff really made our stay here memorable. They were so friendly and genuine. They work very hard to ensure you have a good stay- the man working reception (unfortunately I cannot remember his name) worked everyday during our stay from early morning until late at night, and even then he slept on a cot in reception to let in guests coming home/arriving late inside. I cant believe how hard they worked to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The rooms themselves are huge and very clean. The bedroom had good a/c and fast wifi. There is a good breakfast selection and breakfast is yummy. They can arrange tuk tuks to Angkor Wat for great value as well as bus tickets. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the town centre- It was an easy walk and we did not feel unsafe at any point when walking back at night. We felt very safe during our stay- the building is locked at night time and there is CCTV throughout. We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

We stayed 2 nights only to see Angkor. Paid 17 USD for a room. When we got showed to our room we were disappointed that the room was small and without windows. The windows in the room only led to a common area with sofas and TV. Such a weird first thought of us, actually the whole room was ours haha. So actually we had a big living room with sofa, TV and desk (and kettle, drinking water, tea and coffee) plus a bedroom with attached bathroom. We didn't need that big but always nice of course. And there was a small balcony.

The interior is a bit run down which can be expected for this price. There is AC+ fan in both rooms. Bathroom is the usual Asian wetroom with shower in the middle of the room making it wet everywhere but hot water works fine. Comfortable bed.

Service is good and breakfast is included. Breakfast starts at 6.30 which is good if you want to get away to Angkor early. Although both mornings the breakfast took ages to prepare, I guess only one person working in the kitchen. So if you have a schedule, make sure to be down at the breakfast 45 minutes or so before leaving.

Wi fi worked fine. Location is a 15 minute walk to Pub street, but nearby there are minimarts, restaurants and spas as well.

Room Tip: Room 102 is huge with living room, don't know about the other rooms.

We've had a great stay at this Hostel! Our room was large, clean and cheap and a breakfast was included. The staff, especially the Manager, has been very nice and always keen to help. They offered also a tuktuk transfer to the aiport and Angkor.

So glad that we booked this guest house. The room is spacious, clean with balcony and living hall. Bathroom with heater. Water pressure is good. Complimentary breakfast and two bottle of water daily. Once we went out early to watch sunrise at Angkor Wat and they pack breakfast for us! Besides, they can also help to purchase bus ticket to Phnom Penh. Mini van will pick us up from the guest house to bus station. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Few restaurants nearby and convenient store just right opposite the road. You can take tuk-tuk to night market/pub street from there approx US$1.50. Will back to stay again for sure!

Room Tip: Get lower level room cause there is no lift and the stairs is quite steep. (not convenient if you br...

I have stayed in Green Home for 10 weeks already. Originally I was only booked for a week and then was supposed to move to another place that had been booked for me but I liked this place so much I wanted to stay. Fabulous room, almost an apartment, delicious breakfasts and a bike thrown in. The staff are absolutely lovely, especially the manager, Punlok, who is just so helpful. He will do everything possible to assist you with whatever problem or question you have. I honestly can't rate this place highly enough and would highly recommend it to all travellers.

Arrived this place early morning around 8am, I was impressed the room is ready for me to check in. I was travelling solo so the room I booked was the smaller one, but due to its location which is too close to dining hall I then upgrade to bigger one at higher floor. The bigger room is A LOT bigger! It comes with living room with sofa and TV, plus a balcony.

The staffs were very friendly and approachable. If you need anything or have any question, just ask them! The free bicycle also added more fun to my trip. (however I think free bicycles are standard there)

Staying at Green Home really is a relaxing and feel like home experience. Highly recommended, especially at this price range!

Room Tip: Although the smaller room is cheaper but it is too close to the dining hall hence it could a bit noi...
