“Absolutely Great!”
Reviewed 18 March 2013

I found Journeys Within on Trip advisor and was not disappointed about anything. The staff is great, rooms are great, clean, comfortable. Very nice swiming pool, great restaurant, laundry service each. I can't say enough good things about this place. Tuna the resident dog was even great, extremely well mannered. My next trip back to Seim Reap I will 100% return and highly recommend. The drive to the heart of down town is a very quick 10 minutes if even that.

This is exactly what it feels during our stay from 3-Feb to 7-Feb-2013 in this cozy, clean and relaxing boutique hotel. From the time we arrived, the check-in process was literary an eye blink in duration; quick and efficient. The staff were pleasant, friendly and hospitable. They greeted us in their traditional Khmer greeting gesture with hands together on their chest and a head bow for respect as we reciprocated the gesture. They asked us how are trip was and asked if we needed anything at all for that moment. They then showed us to our rooms without any moment to waste and carried our bags. Upon arriving to our room, #3 Discovery Den, we were impressed by the huge area of the room. It was very neat, orderly and clean. The temperature was cooled by an air conditioning unit and the temperature in the room was perfect for a warm evening. There were 2 queen size beds, a closet big enough to store clothes, a safe, a work area with a wide enough desk, telephones, a laptop computer with WiFi in the room and throughout the entire hotel and an HD flat screen TV mounted on the wall above the work desk. In other words the room has all the gadgets one needs to be entertained and occupied. The bathroom was large and spacious enough and was very sanitary, spic and span with all the necessary modern amenities for ones personal hygiene. The beds were very comfortable and they seemed to have been customized for me. I slept like a baby through the nights and woke up very refreshed every mornings. After dressing up and our morning wash, we headed to the dining room that was a short walk through the perfectly tropical landscaped area with banana trees, tropical plants, orchids, etc. When we got to the dining room, the staff warmly welcomed us and they were very polite and friendly manner. They were extremely efficient and fast in bringing our orders. We tried almost everything on the breakfast menu that consisted primarily of both Cambodian and American choices and fresh fruits and everything was very delicious and tasty. We walked out of that dining room so stuffed that we did last until 3 or 4 in the afternoon for our next meal. They also offer lunch and dinner menus consisting again of Cambodian and Western entrees that were also delicious. Imagine being pampered like this during our entire stay... it really felt nirvana, utopia, heaven, etc., whatever you want to call it close to perfectness. In our case, there was a minor hitch with our air conditioning unit on the second day but the staff handled the matter so efficiently and conscientiously always regarding our comfort that we were very satisfied in the way they handled it. They kept apologizing for the inconvenience but I kept telling them there was no need for an apology because we were not inconvenienced. The location of this hotel was also close to the center of town and they do have complimentary tuktuk rides from 6 to 9 in the evening that was also very helpful to us when we went to town for dinner, shopping, etc. We had the opportunity to meet the administrative staff and Brandon, the owner, who was very friendly and showed concern with our total comfort by asking us "how everything was" in the hotel. Our reply, one word, "Perfect"! All-in-all that sums up our experience at this boutique hotel. From the time we were picked up by Mr. Leing, a driver, in the airport during our arrival to the time we went on our daily tours with our excellent Guide, Hoeum Vanith and to our departure, everything was "Perfect". We'll miss the place, we just wish we have the same experience here in New York, but that would be asking a bit too much! In goes without saying and unequivocally, we feel that we will return to Journeys Within Boutique Hotel during our return to Siem Reap.

An incredible oasis on the road to Angkor Wat and just a few minutes from the town center--this place was perfect!! With a handful of bungalows with large, airy rooms surrounding a beauitful, swimmable pool in glorious landscaping, we fell in love with this jewell of a small hotel and its superbly warm and wonderful staff--its tour services, massage services, and respectful attention to all our needs. In fact, the three of us who stayed here together never recall such service, from a warm staff welcome to free tuk tuk rides to town at night, to free laundry, to great advice on restaurants and tours (through its tour agency), to delightful wait staff. And a big plus--the owners also support social and environmental community service via its connected non-profit. We can't think of ANYTHING else we could have asked for! Sign up!

This is a great little hotel for families and couples wanting to explore Angkor.
Set about 10 minutes (tuk tuk) drive from the main city centre it is in a really peaceful location.
The rooms are a big size and fully loaded with everything you would expect from a 5 * hotel (free WiFi, Flat screen TV, Laptop, AC, Fridge full of soft drinks and water...etc).
The pool area is great for relaxing after a hard days touring and the food is very good.
The staff are all very friendly and make you feel very relaxed.
There was a slight hicup with regards to out airport pick up - which did not turn up, however the hotel were very apologetic and compensated us with a free 60 minute massage.
In short I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of travelling to Siem Reap.

After a tiring day visiting temples, this is the perfect place to come back to and relax. There's a large pool, and because there aren't many rooms, there's no problem gettting a lounger.
The rooms are spacious and there's a superb shower in the bathroom. As well as satellite TV and tea & coffee making facilities, a laptop is provided for your use.
You choose the time and content of your breakfast the night before, but whatever you choose will be pretty good. The restaurant stays open until the early evening.
A free tuk tuk can be provided to take you to your evening restaurant. You do need to keep a hotel card with you so that the driver can find the place when you return. The return journey usually cost $3.
The praises of the staff here are not over the top. They are indeed incredibly helpful, and always friendly and welcoming.
This would have to be one of our favourite hotels we've stayed in around the world - and we've stayed in some pretty good ones.

We left our decision too late to stay at the Journeys Within Hotel, but we did utilize their services to organize a 3 day tour of Siem Reap and all I can say is thank you very much. We had our own tour guide and driver and this enabled us to take in a lot more than we would have seen on our own, or as part of a bigger tour group. We traveled with two young children and they are still talking about the experience - best holiday we have been on. Spent two days touring round temples, and one day visiting a local village and then traveling out to the floating village on Tonle Sap.

Real life Temple Run, and boat rides, how can kids not be amused.

If you are traveling to Siem Reap and are looking for an individual tour, I can highly recommend Journeys Within - you won't be disappointed.

We did have lunch on our first day at this Hotel and the food was excellent. Pity we couldn't have stayed here as I think we would have enjoyed it. Nice pool, play ground and kids club for the kids. And friends who recommended Journeys Within to us enjoyed their time their.

Room Tip: Book early. We left it too late to be able to stay at the hotel!!!!!!

This is a wonderful place. The staff are devoted to service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Unlike many hotels in the area the drinking water is free. The bath has my favorite -- a rain forest shower head. But really best of all -- the place isn't tourist overrun. Ater a day in the crowds at Angkor it is just grewt to find a quiet oasis of calm. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: Get the Srey room with the veranda overlooking the pool.
