From the moment of arrival when we were greeted by Michelle with fresh pineapple juice and a briefing on the many activities on offer in Siem Reap, I knew that this would be a wonderful break. The room was airy, spacious and clean. Great bathroom and there was always plenty of drinking water. The team at reception were very accommodating in arranging bicycle tours, khmer massage, cooking lessons, and of course guides around the myriad of temples that Ankor Wat has to offer. The hotel is centrally located, but very importantly on a quiet street, which allows you to sleep well, enjoy the gardens and pool and general tranquility. Delicious breakfast! Try the waffles (and everything else!)

Thanks to all the team who made it such a great trip.

I loved every minute of this experience! The property, staff, room, food and details were all excellent! Every small detail was taken care of. When we arrived, our room was exactly how it looked in the pictures, with flowers on our beds. Air conditioning was cold and beds were comfy. Water was plentiful and bathrooms were upgraded and really modern. The housekeeping staff came at least twice with a turndown service. The free laundry was such a nice touch. It is hand washed and hung to dry. I was so grateful with the humidity! Meals were delicious and Raja (spelling) was so personable and lovely in the restaurant. The grounds were so pretty. The other staff were always saying hello to us and were naturally outgoing. The hotel management (esp. Michelle and Macara) always knew what we were doing next with our plans. Our stay was seamless and I hated to leave. I just loved this place and hope to be able to return next summer. What an excellent deal this beautiful hotel was and a treat to be able to chat and interact with the local people! Thank you!

If you are looking for a boutique hotel and tour company in Siem Reap look no farther. This hotel is wonderful for either couples or families with children. The location is ideal- very close to airport, old market and Angkor Wat. The hotel is excellent value for money- free transfers, free breakfast, free water and soft drinks, free internet, free tuk-tuk rides, even free laundry service. We stayed in the family suite which was huge, spotless, and comfortable. It exceed all of our expectations.
We also used the Journey's Within Tour Company and highly recommend them as well. Honestly, I have no criticisms and we have travelled extensively in Asia and Europe. I hope you enjoy Cambodia as much as we did.

Our family of four decided to stay at the Journeys Within Boutique Hotel for our recent visit to Siem Reap and the nearby ruins. Upon arrival at the airport, we were greeted by a representative of Journeys Within who helped with our luggage and drove us to the property.

Check-in was a fairly smooth process as one of the owners, Michelle, ran through the particulars. We reserved a Family Suite so our kids could sleep in one room while we were in the other with a connecting door. The Family Suite certainly provided more than enough space for our visit. Each room had its own bathroom, television with DVD player, and stocked mini refrigerator. The stocked mini refrigerator is a particularly nice feature as the contents are included in your room rate. So, after a long day at the temples, returning to the room with a cold Coca Cola waiting for you is a very nice thing! The beds were quite comfortable and the air conditioning worked quickly and efficiently. The bathrooms included a shower (no tub) but were very well appointed. The rooms themselves were not elaborate but functional.

Breakfast was included with the room rate and basically consisted of anything you might want. Every evening, we would turn in a checklist of the items we wanted at breakfast. So, breakfast ended up being a relatively quick and efficient process as they already had prepared most of our food before arrival. We did eat at the hotel restaurant for a couple other meals during our stay and found the prices competitive (maybe slightly more expensive that a restaurant in town – but the prices in Cambodia are so low already, the difference is basically irrelevant) and the quality of the food very good.

The grounds at the property are nice. There is quite a bit of flora and fauna decorating most of the walking paths. In addition, the pool was a nice retreat for our kids after a long day of sightseeing.

Some other aspects of note include the complimentary tuk-tuk service from 6 pm until 9 pm. It was nice to be able to take a tuk-tuk directly from the hotel and have the same driver wait for us at an appointed time to take us back to the property. We even had the hotel hire us a tuk-tuk on our final day to run around until our flight left. I believe it was only $12 for a half day of tuk-tuk service reserved through the hotel.

Overall, we had a nice visit to Cambodia and were pleased with our choice of Journeys Within. Certainly the Journeys Within is not a luxury property, but the people there are genuinely nice and concerned that you have a nice visit to their country.

What a find: a hotel tucked away from the main town of Siem Reap yet near enough to pop in and out, quiet and relaxing, spotlessly clean and with all sorts of nice bits and pieces thrown in. Staff are lovely and welcoming, including Tuna the happy dog who can't wait to get her ears ruffled. We travelled as a family, with another family, and to make it all simple we booked tours with the hotel itself using the company of the same name (Journeys Within), and so we had the whole four-day trip sorted before we even arrived, and we were never let down. Service was quick, efficient and always friendly. The free throw-ins mentioned earlier included laundry, WiFi, tuk-tuks into town and soft drinks in the room fridges. The pool was spotless. Food in the restaurant was pleasant. Transport to and from the airport was easy. Beautiful potions and lotions in the bathroom. Wonderful tours every day with our gentle and informative guide Sina, who went out of his way to show Siem Reap to us. Then simple relaxation every afternoon back at HQ. Unbeatable.

We spent 4 nights here at the end of a 3 week tour through SE Asia with our 3 children (ages 7, 11, and 14) and we were very pleased with the overall experience. We had stayed at some very nice places during our trip but what stood out here was the very friendly attentive staff providing personalized service, the excellent meals, and the beautiful room. Guides that were provided for trips to the temples were informative, engaging, and provided excellent personal service. I feel the location of the hotel is fine, off the main road away from all the mega hotels, a short tuk tuk ride from town (actually closer than most of the larger hotels) Also an easy bike ride off the busy roads to the temples. We appreciated that the tuk tuks were provided for us by the hotel and they would pick us up after our meal in town thus avoiding any negotiating your way home. The pool and hotel grounds are great for our kids and we quite liked the small welcoming feel of this place. The restaurant also provides some excellent basic western style meals which our kids really appreciated. We would definitly recommend JW boutique Hotel and would stay here for sure again.

We stayed on a 2 night stay as a couple in July and had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel and the rooms were exceptionally clean, the staff were very attentive and no request went unanswered (the local staff also have very good English so communication is no issue). The food cooked on site was perfect (great choice and really well cooked).

The main purpose of our trip was to see the temples but you do get worn out pretty quickly with the heat, dust etc so it is pretty key to have somewhere you can get back to and relax in the afternoon in comfort in between temple hopping.

The rooms are really spacious, and with my wife being a bit of a clean freak, she was absolutely thrilled at how immaculate it was! We were also happy with our decision to go a low-key, boutique hotel rather than a larger hotel chain. At JW you become very familiar with the staff and it has a very intimate, cosy vibe. We were also blown away by the marvelous undertakings of JW with the community project that they have provided next door. Hats off to the owners!

The only reason we have given the JW 4 stars instead of 5 is the location. However whilst the location isn't excellent, it is still good and getting to places is easy by tuk-tuk anyway.

A massive thank you goes out to Michelle and the JW team for the wonderful job they did in making our stay so enjoyable.
