My partner and I enjoyed a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel, made all the more special by our complimentary upgrade to a Corner Suite room (we are SPG platinum card holders).

We were met on arrival at the airport by our friendly hotel driver who offered to take us the quick route or the scenic route via the temples - obviously we chose the latter! We were escorted to the lobby lounge and treated to a welcome drink whilst our check-in was arranged. The General Manager came to greet us and explained all the key sites in and around the area as well as his recommendations for places to eat, grab a coffee etc whilst our room was being prepared - a lovely personal touch.

In fact, all of the staff we came into contact with were very helpful, friendly and sincere during our stay. Even when we checked out and left our credit card behind by accident, they contacted us very quickly and arranged to have it sent by courier back to our home. Great service.

Our suite room was very spacious and tastefully decorated in keeping with traditional cambodian style, everything you could need was provided, including plenty of drinking water.

The pool was very quiet when we visited, a very unique style with lilly ponds surrounding it. Just be careful of the steps in to the water - there's quite a gap between the bottom one and the pool floor!

Breakfast was up to Le Meridien's usual standards - a buffet full of sweet and savoury , western and eastern treats. We also ate lunch here on one day and the local Khmer dishes were simply fantastic.

Tuk-tuk drivers hover across the road from the hotel entrance and the doormen will gladly whistle one over to whisk you into Siem Reap town for $2 - just a 7 minute journey away.

We hired a private tour guide in advance of our trip having read some tripadvisor recommendations (Mr Kim San at [--] is great!), but the hotel will also happily arrange tours for you at reasonable prices.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Siem Reap, and after a long day touring the magnificent temples in the scorching heat, Le Meridien Angkor is a calm, cool and comfortable sanctuary to head back to. We'd certainly stay there again if we had the chance to go back!

We travelled to Siem Reap early Feb with our two daughter's who are 6 and 2 1/2 years old. Form the moment we were picked up from the airport we were treated like royalty - our little girls were adored by all especially being fair, Upon then arriving at the Resort, late at night after a long day of travel we were greeted quickly and efficiently and taken straight upto our beautifully appointed room which was fantastic very specious ( this was a corner suite, a must if u a family of 4 !! ) We then proceeded to enjoy 5 fantastic days and nights at this beautiful Resort, we have travelled alot with our girls and have found the Le Meridien - Angkor coming to the top of our list of a many levels below are the reasons why......

Firstly - The Staff are so lovely, so polite and courteous and prompt, you will always be greeted by all the staff and offcourse allot of fuss was made over the girls - in other words there service was of a very high standard at all times !!!
The Food was great lots of variety and of a really good standard, had no problems with the kids not wanting to eat, ........ lots of options !!
The Pool is just awesome had lots of fun enjoying and relaxing and drinking cocktails - a must
The Day Spa - was amazing ahhhh and so cheap compared to what you would pay at home another must !!!
Location is fantastic close enough to all the Temples and Siem Reap Town - the Tuks Tuks are very cheap
Lastly when they put on a function it is amazing, they set it up outside in these beautiful gardens with gorgeous decorations. We attended one of the functions with my husband work at it was truly amazing once the sun goes down it is like being in fairy Land just beautiful the service food and attention to detail is all just outstanding,.

In Summary - The Resort I would consider 5 star the ambience atmosphere is just beautiful the amenities fantastic the people and service exceptional we would love to come back.

Also make sure u get out and see Siem Reap - Angkor Wat it is truly a beautiful place with beautiful people exceeded my expectation ten fold - a hidden Gem !!!

This hotel is the perfect place to spend your vacation in Angkor. The hotel is close enough to the temples where it is easy to come back for lunch or to take a nap between temples. We went in the summer when it was slow and the hotel was very reasonably priced ($85 per night) and there were tons of food specials ($10 for an appetizer and desert).

The facilities in the hotel were amazing. The room was large (we were upgraded to a suite) and the furniture was very nice. The breakfast buffet was excellent and filled us up for most of the day.

The hotel was easy to book via the internet and unsurprisingly for a 5* hotel had all the comforts that you could ever need. Where I felt it let itself down was with the excessive pricing for all the services.
We booked a car and driver to take us to the Wat's for US$30, however, if you want to go any further than the very nearest Wat's then there is another previously undisclosed charge of US$25. Should you visit I would recommend that you haggle a day rate with a Tuk Tuk driver, who are more than able to provide the same service as the hotel but for a much more reasonable price.
The hotel recommends that you do NOT drink the water from the tap in the hotel - why then do they charge you US$5.50 per bottle of water? Seemed very expensive when the same can be purchased across the road for only US$1
I know it seems strange to whinge about the cost of a 5* hotel, but, for me it was a case of what was a fair and reasonable cost and what was simply ripping off the guests.
Don't let me put you off stayong here, just be aware that there are ways to get what you want at a reansonable cost while putting the money into the hands of a local rather than a big company.

Stayed at Le Meridien in January 2010 for four nights as a stopover on the way home from the UK to Australia. Whilst the hotel is getting a bit old it was very comfortable with amazing staff and a brilliant pool.

In short if you are after a reasonably priced hotel close to the temples of Angkor this is the place.

We booked this hotel online, even though it was expensive, because of the Brand.
The staff were very friendly and courteous, but then everybody in Siem Reap is friendly and courteous.
The rooms are not just upto the mark. I would rate them as 3.5 star. The lobby is not air conditioned. The restaurant prices are very high ($ 20 for breakfast), $ 5.50 ++ for a bottle of water in the room etc.
They charge $ 2 ++ for an hour of internet, and it is incredibly slow.
We ate out a lot in Siem Reap, and we found the food to be very good and very reasonably priced.
This hotel should halve its tariff to become reasonable.

Thank you very much for sharing your comments with us. For the comfort of all of our guests, our lobby is air-conditioned and we provide two complimentary bottles of water in every room per day. We sincerely apologize if the cost of our buffet breakfast, which is $15++, was miscommunicated. We have forwarded your valuable feedback to the pertinent managers

I stayed here last July for three nights, using Starwood points, and was very pleased. It was a clean, spacious and convenient place to stay for a short visit to the temples at Angkor.

The hotel itself is large and quite nice. The service was excellent. We had a nice corner room, near the entrance to the pool area. The room itself was clean, spacious, and modern. The hotel seemed very empty when we were there, but that was a big plus for us, as it was very relaxing to return to a quiet hotel at the end of a long day at the temples.

The pool was also very nice and, again, quite empty. A great place to relax after a hot day walking about. The design of the pool was interesting, and the location of the pool bar extremely handy.

In terms of location, the hotel is quite close to the temples, so it is a quick tuk-tuk or van ride to the sights. It is, however, a little distance away from the center of town. This wasn't a problem for us, since it was so easy to just grab a tuk-tuk. Plus, we liked returning to the quieter hotel at the end of the day. However, the hotel does feel a bit far away from the action, so if you like being in the middle of things, it may not be for you.

All in all, a very good experience.
