After staying in a high end hotel in Phnom Penh, I wasn't expecting this hotel to be anywhere near the same standard. But even then it was way below par even for a budget hotel.

My room had no windows, and an old CRT television with a screen which had been scribbled on in permanent marker (no idea why!).
Everything is badly maintained and broken, sometimes to the point of being dangerous (the floor standing lamp in my room was stretched so taut that when I tried to move it a few inches the bulb fell out and shattered on the floor).

The shower fitting had half snapped off, so the shower head could only point at the adjacent wall and not at you. Not that it mattered much because the shower was a tiny dribble of lukewarm water anyway.

Unlike other reviewers though, I found the front desk staff very friendly. They always greeted us as we came back, and provided lots of help in planning our trips.
Its not their fault the hotel is badly maintained, I suspect the hotel just has an absent owner who doesn't really care much.

The breakfast is ok too. Not a great selection, but there's a constant supply of bread, eggs and bacon and melon.

You can walk to Pub Street from here in about 25 minutes, but really you're better off getting them to book a tuk-tuk.

Stayed here for 3 nights during company trip. The staff were friendly and very attentive. They did their level best to accommodate to all our requests and got some good recommendation from them on nice places to eat.

However, the hotel upkeep itself is on the negative side. It was not brightly lit during the day, as lights were only turned on after late evening. The hotel/rooms were quite run-down, more like a motel, thus affecting our sleep the whole trip. There's a pool there, but of course not properly maintained as well. All-in-all, not the best place to stay if you were to visit Siem Reap. Since the weather is hot and not to mention that everywhere is quite dusty, you'd expect to have a proper/more comfortable hotel to rest in, after a day out visiting Siem Reap.

there seems to be no way to contact this hotel, even through their website, i have a problem with some property going missing after we checked out and left our bags in storage

http://www.skyway.hostel.com/directions.php ??????
cant tell if it is advertised as a hostel or a hotel: Skyway Hotel, same site???

no safes in the rooms, boxes behind the front desk, not 3 star and then things go missing

also shower sits at about 4 foot, with extension cord but nowhere to lock into.

i would have liked to contact the manager but cannot see how

not clean, not great, not value for money

Stayed at skyway for 2 nights with my friend, and the staff are super friendly and helpful! The rooms are also clean, nice and spacious. It's about 20 mins away from the temples by tuk tuk and they have a free tuk tuk service to the old market, its about 5-10 mins away, but if youre up for it you can walk there...or even better, cycle! And right in front, there's the office for the seila van service that takes you to Phnom Penh, so that's convenient. There's also a market next to skyway, you can get fruits and some local food! Overall I'm satisfied with my experience at skyway hotel.

When will learn to only book one night so I am not stuck in a dump for 3 nights? Poorly maintained, not clean. There are so many nicer places in Siem Reap. The Tuk tuk driver was great and took us to the temples and all around for a reasonable price. Money missing from the room. Breakfast was good though. This is a definite don't stay here again.

Room Tip: At a different hotel.

I really appreciate the hospitality of the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful: the manager, the receptionist, the staff, and the Tuk-Tuk drivers. The best value of this hotel is the free Tuk-Tuk.

I had an accident with the hair-dryer in the hotel room in which I broke the hair-dryer, burnt the bed mattress and the sheet. Fortunately, I was in the room so the fire didn't spread further. I was prepared to pay a lot of damage but the management only charged me with a fraction of the real damage cost (I guess it the amount charged is less than a quarter of the damage cost)!

There are a couple of things that could be improved though. The first one is the hot water. The water is only luke-warm even though I put it to maximum and the smell is a bit "rusty". The second one to be improved is the swimming pool. The size and the area is great, but the water is so cold I couldn't stay very long inside even in a hot day and they use too much chlorine, it hurts my eyes.

Overall, I really enjoy my stay because of the service and hospitality.

Thank You.

One nights stay to see as much as possible in 24hrs. Arrived in Siem Reap and got a taxi to the hotel, didn't book but had read ok reviews before hand. They had a room, the taxi driver asked if we wanted to hire him for the day to get around quickly and with his knowledge for $30. So he waited for us to check in.
Checked in, saw the room which is nice, clean and not a shoe box! Shower is not the best but after a long few hours seeing the temples the pool certainly cooled us down. Given extra towels for the pool. Staff gave us advice on how to get to Koh Chang and booked a taxi for the 2 hrs to the Thai border. Plenty of beers but no spirit's. Not a place to stay as a family for a week, but perfect as a stop to get and see the temples.
