This hotel is just wonderful. The staff are so welcoming (Okay, a general truth here!), the food is excellent, the décor is traditional, the ambience is soothing and the rooms are great. Best for couples.

A delightful oasis in a busy city. Just across the bridge is the main drag for activities restaurants etc, although the eating here is great with smiling helpful staff.
The garden environment make you think that you are staying in some king's palace.

We stayed here for a week in January, renting the bungalow. The gardens and decoroations throughout are like a movie set from the colonial past. Maintained constantlybut unobtrusively. We enjoyed the veranda looking out on what was essentially a private garden screened friom the pool. Although many people would use the pool throughout the day, it was never crowded and quite quiet. The three rooms allowed us to nap in one room while the other person could watch tv or read without disturbance. Breakfasts were lovely to look at and the bread, honey and fruit were marvelous. Very good dinner one night also. The staff were engaging, helpful, and kind. they engaged a very good tuk-tuk driver for us for the week. After touring everyday, it was so restful returning to the serene home of this hotel. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the outdoor shower in the enclosed back garden; I tried to do it twice a day!

The location is fine--easy walk to town center, but across the river. large pagoda across the river directly; at dawn you could faintly hear the monks chanting which went with the whole atmosphere. You can hear the city waking up in the early morning if you are outside, but quite quiet inside.

Although my husband knows the owner, I have no relationships with him or anyone else associated with the hotel. I watched to see if we were treated differently and noticed no differences in the way others were cared for and us.

Room Tip: I can only say the bungalow was perfect. There are various different rooms and layouts.

Bopha Angkor Hotel was a dream coming true for me and my wife. The Cambodian style house was adapted into a hotel. Siem Reap was very hot during the week we stayed there and the hotel offered a confortable swimming pool with cold water, it managed to serve cold beer (which is rare in Cambodia) and the massage was great. If you want to relax after a whole day visiting temples, the place is Bopha Angkor.

The rooms are tidy and clean with a powerful shower and many channels on your tv.

By the way: Bopha is pronnounced like bopá and it means flower.

We stayed here a few years ago with our 4 children.
We still talk about this hotel, and how it gave a great local feel to our stay in Siem Reap.
We have fond memories of this lovely small hotel.
We would happily stay here again.
Friendly staff, local food, great location, great Cambodian experience.

I booked this hotel reading the reviews as a boutique hotel. However I did not see anything in it as a boutique hotel. The structure is old. The average rooms are very small and bathrooms do not have ventilation. They have gathered things from here and there and tried to give a boutique feeling. Since owner is a muslim they do not provide any pork dishes but it wasn't a problem for me.

PRO:
Nice location and just a 5-10 min. walk to heart of city.
The area is full of greenery and trees and gives you a nice feeling. Pool is nice too. The restaurant looks to be very nice however I only had breakfast. The owners seems to be environment friendly and do not provide bath amenties like packed soap, shower gel or shampoos but have installed shower gel and shampoo dispensers in shower area.
Staff is very friendly

CONTRA:
Regular rooms are very small.
No soap near wash basins so you have to go to shower area to get some soap from dispenser.
Breakfast is well decorated but tiny portions and you have to stick to THEIR menu which has 3-4 choices.
No intercom so you have to go to reception for everything.

Genuinely welcoming and obliging staff. Reception booked tickets, reserved tables and posted letters...nothing too much bother. We stayed as a family for seven nights and did not want to leave. Extensive breakfast and good restaurant. Beautiful gardens, fresh lotus flowers delivered each morning and arranged around grounds. Quiet location, but a sense of the life of the town just outside the gates : 5 minutes' walk to all the nice cafes and across the bridge to the pagoda. Don't stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: ask for a high one
