“Would love to come back!”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

I stayed here 8 years ago, and was not disappointed by its current condition. The breakfast is more than adequate. Preferring a western style breakfast, I loved the small loaf of hot bread per person and the multiple jams or honey, the five varieties of fruits, and the ready refills of coffee (in addition to the omelette and bit of hash browns). It was low season, and not so busy, and staff were abundant, professional and attentive. Dinner there was among the best food we had in Siem Reap, and well presented (including carved vegies for joy of presentation's sake). The room and pool were nice, and we were upgraded to a better room without extra cost as they were available. Proximity to markets and pub street were outstanding, though a few blocks away which I prefer rather than being in the midst of too much noise. Easy access to temples. Staff were consistently smiling and helpful, and I'd certainly enjoy returning at some future date.

Bopha hotel was an absolute haven during the hot days in Siem Reap. The staff are discrete and helpful, they were always there when you needed them- some people have complained that there is no phone in the room -honestly we only had to go out of our room and assistance was right at hand. We had a garden suite which con sited of a kingsize bed in room with a couch and charm area, a smaller area off the main bedroom with desk and chars and a bathroom. We never felt crowded as you often do in hotel rooms. The cleaning was done each day and was done well and the facilities were all operational. The pool area was without a doubt the best area to be in the heat of the day. It is a largish pool , with adequate lounges around it.
The hotel does need a little maintenance- around the pool the decking was a bit old and news redoing. Breakfast is 4 options which should suit everyone. Loved it, would stay again.

We had a lovely meal here in late May14.
Staff were brill , but as we were the only people in the restaurant at 7pm, we had all 5 to ourselves.
Drinks as with all hotels and restaurants in Siem Reap were expensive but not by much.

We spent 2 wonderful nights at Bopha Angkor Hotel in early March 2014 and it made the start of our wedding/honeymoon all the better.
The staff are all very friendly and seem like lovely people, but also very professional and attentive. They were very helpful and went above expectations on many occasions. The hotel is very beautiful, cozy and clean with the buildings surrounded by gardens and ponds and the pool area is lovely. The rooms were decorated in a colonial style and has a lot of character.
The restaurant is a highlight and we loved the food. A good quality restaurant. We also enjoyed the breakfast very much! Khmer Breakfast and Asian Breakfast. Just do it!
Thank you everyone at the hotel, you really are all a great group of people.

The room in the first night was not functioning. One of the bathroom light was missing and it took me 20 min. to get hot water after my friend had used the shower. Aircon was very weak in a stronger setting with remote controller. We needed to walk a bit to get to the room because it was located at the back. When it was raining, the floor in the courtyard was not drained so my shoes got wet whenever we walk-in.
We asked to fix or change the room after the first night. One of the staff was very firm saying there was no equivalent room left for us, then he changed his mind shortly, we moved over to a better-looking one. However, we found a big (half a palm size) cockroach in the bathtub in a first few hours, then another a few in the next day, which caused my friend to get alert and up through the whole night. (So, it is better to avoid the hotel if you are allergic to insects)
More disappointing thing is, when I found they lied to me over a bus booking. They revealed to me the invoice between them and the bus company(Giant Ibis) by mistake, I figured out the bus fare was 14USD but It costed me 17USD. The point I don't understand is staff was trying to convince us saying the bus fare was increased due to the Kmer New Year when we asked about the increased price. Anyhow we booked bus through the hotel as we wanted use credit card even we knew they charged more than any other agents.
I liked everything about Siem Reap but the hotel.

The location of this hotel is excellent - it is right by the river and very easy walking distance to many restaurants, a supermarket to buy water, Pub Street and the night markets. Their pool is beautiful - quiet and relaxing, exactly what you need when you come back tired from the temples.

The breakfast is ok - they have 4 different options and only one of which is Western (eggs, fruit, bread & jam, which was totally fine for me but people who expect more choices may be disappointed). If you are Western, the other breakfast options may seem more like lunch or dinner choices.

The rooms are very average and could use some updating. Our bathroom was a bit run-down, and we had to ask someone to fix our shower because we weren't getting any hot water. Also, the shower is basically just a wall separating the shower head from everything else, meaning the whole floor gets flooded because there's nothing stopping the water from going everywhere.

There are tons of hotels in Siem Reap: this one is small and nice, beautiful, charming and centrally located. Great restaurant and cozy pool. Staff is extremely kind and smiling, helpful and nice. You step in and you know you are in for a relaxing/ exotic time.
