We got a great 'early bird' deal here by booking through the hotel's website - a fantastic move, as the extra inclusions really helped make a good stay great.

The room itself was lovely, and the pool it overlooked was a godsend, so good to cool down after a hot day out at the temples.

We also loved the breakfasts and progressively ate our way through the breakfast menu over our four day stay (the apple french toast and the eggs florantine with brie were the best).

We booked a couple of tuktuk rides to the temple through the hotel as well, and they were a real highlight - our driver was extremely knowledgeable and brought along lots of cold water and face towels for us.

To finish my rave, I need to mention the bar. Not only is it extremely classy with a great drinks list, they also have a happy hour every night from 5-7. Even if you are not staying at the hotel, I highly recommend this. You can get cheaper beer in pub street, but only just, and the surroundings are nowhere near as nice.

Siem Reap totally exceded our expectations, as did the FCC. We stayed at the FCC and at Raffles and FCC blew Raffles out of the water. It was chic, peaceful and great value. We will definitely be back.

The food here was not very good, and rather expensive. The only redeeming feature was the ambience. It gives off a kind of colonial feel and sitting on the terrace, one can look out at the water feature and river side. Also, there are a few nice shops in the vicinity of the restaurant, which make it a pleasant little trip.

We had an excellent stay at the FCC Angkor hotel. The staff was very friendly, and the hotel was beautiful. We were picked up at the airport by the hotel, and they organized a tour to Angor for us, which was very nice. The breakfast was really nice! All in all an excellent stay!

I absolutely love the FCC in Siem Reap. That probably explains why I have been here 3 times in 4 years - first trip was August 2007, most recent was in October 2010.

In a "city" full of new hotels with zillions of rooms, this place has tonnes of character and history, and you can even order your favourite Danish/Italian/Indian/?? newspaper if that is important to you.

The rooms are not the largest, but they are a good size, and generally in good condition. The bathrom facilities are clean and fine, although nothing too plush.

The swimming pool is a great length, and a perfect way to relax after a day of temple trekking. Even better is we could order our favourite tipple and sip while cooling off in the pool.

The FCC is a little worn, but it's nothing detrimental, just adds to the ambience.

For the 2nd trip we went for the honeymoon package. The spa is nice, although a little bit worn, but we enjoyed the treatments that came with the package. The tuk tuk took us around Bayon and Angkor Wat, this was a super comfy tuktuk! For the temples further away we hired a car.

Overall I recommend this hotel. My only caveat is that the restaurant which offered delicious tasting food during my first visit, was only "very good" during my second visit, and when we visited last year, it was unfortunately just average. Not sure if there has been a change in the chef or..? The menu remains more or less the same. And this is the saving grace for this restaurant - it has a wholesome selection of Asian and Western cuisine, and some interesting shakes and great cocktails.

The bar area is fabulous, something out of the films almost!

Able to get a suite at a great price. Surprised with fresh lotus bouquet and fruit daily. Also got a dessert sampler on first night. The pool was clean and refreshing. Breakfast was off a menu and simply fabulous. Everyone was very helpful especially front desk. Took hotel Tuk-tuk for day and able to see many temples in one day. Provided cold water and towels. A great way to see Siem Reap. Loved the huge bathroom and rain shower. Included a whirlpool tub but never got a chance to try it. Didn't see Angelina though.
