Excellent location, but property is tired and needs update badly. Staff are very nice and try to be helpful, but they are not well managed and quality controls appear to be few, if any. The food is good, and the upper dining room is a pleasant place.

This is the fourth time I have stayed at the FCC. I have also stayed in a few other hotels in Siem Reap and while they are nice, they don't have that extra touch and serene feeling that emanates from the FCC. The staff is friendly, the setting is wonderful, rooms feel very calm and are comfortable, the food is excellent, and the location cannot be beat. The pool is refreshing and the massage will work out any kinks after a full day at the temples. Don't look elsewhere. You have found your hotel.

We stayed for two nights. The hotel is very attractive and the room was big and smelled delicious. The service was excellent. We are in the restaurant twice and had the spring rolls and the satay as starters. Then the duck red curry and beef curry for mains and they were really tasty.
The toasted banana bread for breakfast was wonderful. Thoroughly recommend this place.

I am prompted to write this having read a complaining review below. We stayed at the FCC for several days and were more than happy with it. We found the pool one of the very best we have come across in a wonderful setting close to the accommodation lodges (a few paces from ours). It enhanced its garden location whereas too many pools blight theirs. We never encountered leaves in the pool and saw gardeners regularly at work round the pool. We found the staff helpful and the food fine. The grunt about a birthday cake seems to make a mountain out of a molehill. Many diners don't welcome birthday celebrations disturbing their dining and cakes are often of a good size because that usually makes a good cake (it would have cost no less to make a smaller cake). Many people who order a cake wish to share it with other diners whose dining they have interrupted.
We stayed in about a dozen hotels during our trip to SE Asia and the FCC would be one to which we would happily return.

Room Tip: Opt for a ground floor room close to the pool - even if you may not use the pool.

Was here in 2006 and enjoyed my stay very much and returned 7 years later and there is clearly a decline in maintenance and service. The place is in a great location and the food is nice but the service staff need some serious supervision and never had the impression that someone was in charge. When commanding a US$ 200 room rate per night then one would expect that the basic services would be provided. Not this time and and orders were taken wrong on several occasions in the restaurant, no towels at all (old used ones nor new ones available in the room and had to call for them) and to top it all, the birthday cake for our son was very un-ceremonially put on our table, no birthday song and the cake would have been enough for 10 pax despite the fact that we were only 3. Hence we left 70% of the cake behind and were charged US$ 30 for something that could have been done a bit more enthusiastically and memorable for an 8 year old boy. Would it have cost too much to give him a little toy or souvenir of the hotel and sing him a birthday song??? Furthermore, the maintenance of the hotel leaves a lot to desire for as well. The pool was full of leaves and so was the entire garden area and I have not seen anyone rake or sweep which is not what I would have expected from a reputable place such as the FCC. All in all a rather disappointing visit this time around and although we like the atmosphere in general, if nothing will be changed and improved, we will certainly try another place on our next visit and cannot recommend this FCC any longer.

My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay for our 6 days in Cambodia. We had decided to spend all our time in Siem Reap, so we could really experience Angkor Wat and the surrounding countryside, and we were not disappointed. The FCC Angkor proved to be the perfect place to stay; an exceptional, unique property. A former 1930's Governor's Residence with a great location, it personified old world charm with first world amenities. The staff was, without exception, friendly and helpful. The front office helped us organize day tours, where to eat, shop, and walk. The restaurant proved just what we needed after long hours of travel and sightseeing. We booked the Temple Grand Circuit Package which was a great deal and included a day's tuk-tuk tour and a massage for both of us. Our decision to stay at the FCC Angkor enriched our time in Cambodia.

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground floor, overlooking the pool. It was lovely.

My fiance and I spent 2 night here and found the service was good. A nice well kept hotel with friendly service. Both of us being working interior designers we felt the design was good but lacked build quality in some aspect but maybe it's just us nit picking North American Standards after all we are in a 3rd world country. Over we felt it was a good hotel and would stay their again if we returned. It is a bit pricy but we like boutique hotels over the mainstream type.
