“Majestic”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

I couldn't help but be in awe of the structure and imagine what must have taken place centuries ago in this very site. The architecture is something to behold and it's hard to fathom how this was built. We planned to spend a few minutes here but ended up taking in every part of the temple for a long while.

“Come early to avoid the crowds”
Reviewed 6 June 2014 via mobile

We visited Bayon immediately after Angkor Wat without going back for breakfast, at about 7 am.

We nearly had the whole temple to ourselves to soak in the atmosphere.

Compared to the much hyped, commercialized, and crowded Angkor Wat experience, Bayon and the whole Angkor Thom allowed us to get up close and personal with the architecture of that time.

Just beware the unofficial guides who will cozy up to you at the entrance to try to get you to hire their services; their English is not all that good, and you may find yourselves trying to interpret meaning than enjoy the attraction.

“Great Buhdas”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

See this before Angkor Wat. It is different, less overpowering, but a must see in my book. All the statues have Buhda's faces on 4 sides-North, South, East and West. Hot, wear hat, take umbrella, sunscreen, comfortable shoes for walking.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

Don't miss this temple! It's smaller to walk through than Angkor Wat & Ta Prohm, but the faces on the pillars are not to be forgotten.
