“Beautiful but Busy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

The Banyon Temple, while large, is smaller than some of the other sites and it can get congested (both inside, and outside where there are a huge number of vendors, tuk tuk drivers, etc.). There is no water surrounding it, so if one must choose where to visit first thing in the morning, this one can be photographed and visited later in the day.
Because of the bustle in the area, there are some interesting photo opportunities (such as the tuk tuk drivers "working" with the temple in the background).

“Hide and seek at Bayon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

This temple is located at the heart of Angkor Thom. Bayon's maze-like quality makes it a pleasure for hide-and-seek; that's why our tour guide's always excited about this place, his favorite of all the Angkors as this used to be his playground during his childhood days. Temple has narrow and perplexing chambers and corridors with so many faces virtually smiling at you (think of the enigmatic Mona Lisas everywhere looking at you), scary.

Aside seeing the very beautiful temple on foot, we also went around it on an elephant! A unique and fun experience!

I really liked this temple. You can take a picture with the smiling Buddha and place your nose at the proper place so it looks like your nose is touching the Buddha's nose.
