This is a must see in the Angkor Wat complex. The skill and craftsmanship that went into the elephants by the ancient carvers I'd just wonderful. It doesn't take long to look at but again is well worth the stop.

I gave this 4 stars, while the Leper King I gave only 3. This is because seeing this, it already looked ordinary compared to all the temples, but the elephants carvings and statues look more obvious than those here at the Leper King. Somehow, Leper King loses out being at the tail end of this set. At least we sat at the top of the elephant statues at a staircase as a photo op.

This enormously long terrace forms a nice interlude in-between viewing countless temples.
It looks out onto a small open grassy area and I recommend standing back as far as you can to get an overview of how different each Elephant looks. The relief is pretty flat, shadows are best in the morning for photographs. A stairway bounded by more three dimensional Elephant heads takes you to the upper platform. It is a good place to slow down and just watch tour groups rush by.

This is another site to visit in the Angkor Wat temple complex. Near Angkor Thom it's worth a quick visit.

This wall of elephants supports a platform where the king supposedly reviewed his troops. It is neat to see how important elephants were at the time, and the carvings are intricate.
Tip: It is hard to get pictures with any detail when facing into the sun, so watch your camera angles.
