Pro's:
- extremely helpful and kind staff!
- unique atmosphere; lovely decorations in both interior and exterior
- fantastic breakfast selection and quality
- driver of tuk tuk nr. S23 :)
- location close to city center
- salt water pool

Con's:
- staff english skills
- too chilly in public areas (lobby, restaurants)
- poor noise insulation in the room (could hear other guests and staff from the corridor and next-door); light sleepers will suffer

I have a great stay in Sokha Angkor Resort!
***Check in procedure: quick and professional
***Room: spacious with really comfortable king bed, I could sleep very well after long trip in Angkor Wat. Free wifi with high speed satisfied me as well.
***Buffet breakfast: various and huge buffet (I do love the cakes there). The chefs there were so friendly, staff always smile and they are always ready to serve you.
***Services: just asked them for the ironer and they sent to my room immediately! all the staff are friendly and willing to help you any times, from the front desk, concierge to the doorman...
***Location: only 10 minute walking to pub street!
I would recommend this to all my friends going to Siemreap, either for business or travelling! : )

Family of 4: 2 adults/2 late teenagers stayed over Chinese New Year. All aspects of hotel were great: rooms (although beds a bit hard), free Wifi, staff, food (huge buffet breakfast & dinner), swimming pool (salt-water and a bit cold on your first dip!), location, local information, friendly Tuk-Tuk drivers outside and a wonderful SPA! We enjoyed the free 15-minute foot massage each - while we waited for adjoining rooms to be made-up, so much so that we also booked a 1-hour Khmer body massage (US$23). Tough on the legs, but lovely - especially after a whole day walking around temples! The Irish Bar was closed for refurbishment, but we went out to Pub Street every night anyway. Really: a great hotel and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms 369 & 371 overlook carpark and a local temple, quiet & morning sunshine.

As per our review of the Pullman Hotel in Hanoi, we stayed here in January as part of a tour of Vietnam and Cambodia and it was by far the best of the hotels we stayed at in terms of accommodation and facilities. Our bedroom was on the second floor (I think there were only 4 or 5 floors) directly overlooking the outdoor pool area, which was beautifully lit up at night, and had a lovely terrace with table and chairs. The outdoor pool was quiet and attractively laid out with plenty of sun loungers and parasols, waiter service for drinks and snacks, abundant towels and good facilities for showering/changing. After days of getting up at the crack of dawn to tour etc it was so nice to have a chance to spend a relaxing afternoon in such pleasant surroundings.

The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the centre of Siem Reap (where there is a fabulous market selling everything you can think of and bartering is an absolute must) but there were plenty of rickshaws outside the hotel charging around 2 dollars if you fancied being ridden in. We walked in mostly as it was so easy (once you'd got the hang of crossing the roads and manoeuvring the traffic) but took a rickshaw into the restaurant area (Pub Street) in the evening and back to the hotel again afterwards.

Breakfasts in the buffet restaurant offered loads of choices plus there were other eating areas that we didn't have chance to try although we did have lunch in the bar area near the pool. We were in a rush as we had about 40 mins before we had to leave for another excursion and we ordered salad/burgers, drink and asked if it could be quick. It was, the food and the service was good. Didn't try the spa but would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Try for a room overlooking the pool.

This was our second time staying here, having stayed here 18 months ago. It was just as good as the first time.
We had two connecting deluxe pool view rooms. Rooms were big, largest bed I have ever slept in! Staff were extremely courteous, pleasant and friendly. I could not fault the place. We had lunch in the hotel on the day we arrived which was delicious. Buffet breakfast was good, too.
Short tuk tuk ride into town, We even walked it a couple of times - about 15 minutes. Siem Reap is just a fabulous place. Our two teenage boys want to come back again. Restaurants are great and the shopping is great. Go to the Khmer House Restaurant for a Khmer curry.

The first time we stayed here was in the low season (September), so we noticed a big difference this time in the number of tourists at the temples. If you can go in the low season it is much better to get around the temples and really soak up the atmosphere. We found it was very crowded at the main temples (Angkor Watt, Bayon).
Beautiful hotel, beautiful place and beautiful people. Hopefully we will return again one day.

We have used the same tuk tuk driver both times and he is just a wonderful & kind man. If anyone is interested in contacting him, then please send me a message and I can give you his details.

In Siem Reap you have a big choice of hotels in each category, obviously the result of the tourism boom, but if you are looking for a relaxing nice place then this is the one to go. I really liked their lobby, it is so nicely decorated and even though there are guests arriving and leaving all the time, somehow it felt very calm and relaxing. A big advantage of the hotel is that they are issuing entrance tickets to the temples (the only hotel in the town) and if you are not staying here, then you need to queue quite long in the morning at the ticket office of the city. Our Deluxe room was nicely decorated in local style, did not like the view but it doesn’t really matter as you are out the whole day anyway. Breakfast was good, but very busy as all the tourists are leaving the same time. They were reacting on the big demand promptly and opened the adjacent restaurant for additional tables, very clever move and talk about service oriented staff.
The pool looks amazing, kind of Indiana Jones style, but we’ve found it too cold to swim in mid January, not sure if it’s heated. Loved the coffee shop, nice to sit on its terrace in the morning if you have time. They even offered Vienna coffee on the menu, which is very precious for me (reminds me about home) and it is rarely you can get this in other countries.
The hotel is close enough to walk to the night market or to restaurants. Tried the spa, looks a bit worn out but the massage was excellent after a busy day and relatively cheap.
Highly recommend this place to stay in, you will not regret it.
