“Best pool!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

The saltwater pool is the perfect temperature, set in lovely gardens, and there is even some shade in the late afternoon (perfect for the fair-skinned who have been out in the sun at the temples all morning). The hotel is worth staying at just for the pool and clean rooms!
The housekeeping staff deserve special mention, the rooms are serviced twice a day and are spotlessly clean. The drainage can sometimes smell a little, but minor.
The downside is that you can hear guests in other rooms scraping wooden chairs/tables/suitcases across the wooden floors at all hours of the day and night. There are late flights to Siam Reap so people were coming and going at 1am, plus people getting up at 4.30am to see sunrise at Angkor Wat. Pack earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Breakfast can be very crowded at peak tour group times but the local fruit is delicious and they can make you an espresso so you don't have to drink filter muck!
Two hotel tuk-tuk divers are lovely and deserve special mention, book Mr Kear or Mr Sal to take you around, they speak enough English to make things easy, charge fair prices and are lovely blokes.

Wonderful hotel and very friendly staff. Fantastic pool. Centrally located near the downtown area. Would've been perfect if our room wasn't directly over the new night club...music was very loud in our hotel room.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not on the second floor above the night club.

The staff at sokha Angkor hotel are the best.
After my stay there I could not fault this hotel.
I had to change rooms after a air conditioner played up.
I was moved to a executive suite that was the most amazing room I've ever stayed in.
The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make my stay so enjoyable.
The food and restraints were also some of the best in Cambodia.
It was my birthday whilst there and a birthday cake was delivered to my room compliments of the hotel.
As well when I had dinner in the Japanese restaurant the staff gave me another small cake and sung me happy birthday.
Thank you to Eat Socheat and all the staff for a memorable stay.
I would highly recommend this hotel to all.
As well our guide who was organised by the hotel by the name of Kea Simon was brilliant and made the temples fun as well as informed.
Kindest regards Bruce Morrison.

Room Tip: The executive suite is presidential. Treat yourself.

Business or pleasure, couples or families every guest is treated like a rock star. Staff are welcoming and friendly only place I would stay. The food was great & got to love a $4 Cosmo. Beautiful hotel in every aspect and the beds are huge and comfy.

I chose the Sokha Angkor resort as it seemed to be an ideal location for visiting Ankor Wat as well as the market area. In terms of location it is excellent. The staff is helpful and polite. The swimming pool is very good. There is a new nightclub that has just opened and may pick up soon. The acrobat show is walking distance from the hotel. Even the pub street and old town can be reached on foot if one does not mind walking for 10-12 minutes. However the rooms need some 'taking care of.' My room had a lizard on the floor, and the AC was not effective, so could not sleep properly at night. Food is good. Better maintenance will make it an excellent place overall as well.

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms will be livelier and will give a better view

My partner and I stayed there for 7 nights and we weren't disappointed. The driver picked us up from the airport with a fresh towel in hand and a bottle of water (much needed after a long flight). The check in process took less then 5 minutes and at 10am our room was ready. The king bed could fit four people and considering my partner is over 6 feet we welcomed the king bed with open arms straight for a power nap. The buffet breakfast is the most amazing variety of food you could ever ask for. Anything from omelets, bacon, fresh fruit, laksa, pancakes, waffles, toast, yogurt and fresh juice. The room was always clean, each night they dropped off a sweet surprise at out hotel so when we arrived we would indulge. I spent my birthday at Siem Reap and after a long day of visiting the temples we cam back to the room and found a birthday cake surprise. The spa was relaxing and you can easily book any tours or sight seeing with the hotel. The staff were more then accommodating. Personally we booked our own driver Bunthy bunthyme.bm@gmail.com he took us to all the best temples, gave us a history on Cambodia, the temples and recommended the best restaurants. I would highly recommend Bunthy if you are looking for a driver. He is only a drive, which means he will drive you places then leave you on your won to explore as much as you like, while he is waiting for you. If you want a tour guide where they follow you and take you around the temples you can also book that with the hotel. A definite must visit and explore the city.

I visited Sokha Angkor in late July, travelling with my parents and all the first time to Siem Reap. The 2-bed room was clean and spacious even with an extra bed in it. Good wifi. Great breakfast, plentiful of options. Great location, just a couples of minutes of walk one can get to the night market, yet its location is quiet and undisturbed.

What really impressed me were their helpful staff. My parents could only speak Chinese, and the hotel had a staff who could speak fluent Chinese, and she provided many suggestions to help us plan our tour in Siem Reap. Another time we decided to venture farther and needed to rent a car for an one-day trip, and the concierge was also proven to be helpful. These were just examples of many times that the staff offered warm help.

Room Tip: Get the room near the pool-side (as opposed to the city-side) for better view and less noise. Higher...
