“First class hotel in a great location - would go back in a flash!”
Reviewed 4 April 2010

I stayed at the Sokha with my girlfriend for 3 nights in a Club Suite and we couldn't have been happier with our room. Spacious, amazing bathroom, great balcony overlooking the pool, stylish, clean - everything you could want. The staff were excellent, friendly, very attentive and everyone spoke good english. The breakfast was all you could ask for and the Japanese food we had was as good as I've had in a long time.

The pool tops off a great hotel and is a very welcome sight after a morning visiting the temples.

All in all, this is an excellent hotel in a great location and I would recommend it to anyone, whether you're looking for a family, business or romantic getaway.

What a wonderful hotel! after been traveling for many years around the world I found this hotel great place to stay during my visit in Angkor. Decor of this hotel is really good with nice swimming pool which I really like it. It is in the center of town which is close to everything you need to do in town. I could walk to the royal palace and watch flying foxes next to the shrine, one street across to see Apsara Dancing show, three minutes walk to old market and night market. I am not a big shopper but love to be there with all great place to eat and drink. Don't miss that place (pub street). Thanks to Ratanak Eath which suggest and book this hotel for me the rate is almost like asiaroom.com

We went to Siem Reap and had not booked any place and found this hotel and the welcome we got was second to none the staff were very helpfull and the rooms were at a great standard as we have been to Siem Reap before and stayed else where.
Can a-sure you that will not happen again as the location was the right one for all activites night or day. Rooms food and staff first class, we were to stay 4 nights but stayed 6 and enjoyed every moment of my stay there.
Only fault I would say is the internet conection as I work on the move found it lacked in the straight forward conection that most other hotels have that are of this standard .
You must not mis the breakfast what ever you chouse you will not be disapointed.

For my second visit to Siem Reap I choose to stay at The Sokha Angkor and could not have been happier with my decision. Hotel is well situated, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is terrific. Breakfast was tasty although the lunch buffet was just ok. The pool is very inviting after a long hot day temple hopping. The hotel is located a walk able distance to Pub Street and several markets along the way. The location is in the same area as some other well known (and higher priced) alternatives. For those of you who don‘t want to walk, a $2.00 tuk-tuk ride will get you just about anywhere. Once again, Great Staff, Good Location, Awesome Swimming Pool, and Comfortable Room.

Oh and one last thing, you can buy your temple passes at the hotel after 4:30 pm instead of the main ticket area.

Spent four nights in the care of the delightful staff at Sokha where we were treated with the utmost friendliness and courtesy. We had a very comfortable, spacious room complete with oversized bath and great shower. The restaurants at Sokha serve a variety of tasty food beautifully presented including a superb Japanese eatery. The hotel has an excellent spa facility offering a wide range of treatments for both male and female at reasonable prices and there is a lovely pool and a gym also. The Irish Pub is only let down by the lack of patrons in what is a very comfortable and reasonably priced bar.

I have been wanting to visit Cambodia for a long time. And finally this year, I decided to feed my wanderlust. After sourcing the Internet, I booked the Sokha Angkor based on price, facilities and proximity to the Angkor Wat.

The booking, confirmation, arrangements for transports and early check-in processes were done online seamlessly. I was served by Mr Rorn Sormrarch promptly and efficiently. No requests were turned down. It was sterling service standards.

When we arrived at the hotel, it offers nice and posh accommodation, with a fantastic spa and reasonably good restaurant for our daily breakfasts. We didn't manage to try out the salt pool due to time factor and the fact that the hotel was booked for the SEACEN meeting during our stay. Despite the ad-hoc increased security checks, it didn't really pose a problem (in fact, we felt even safer with VIPs and the heightened security in the hotel!)

The room was adequately big enough for three of us, and definitely comfortable. The beds and pillows were just right - not too hard or soft. It was perfect and clean. All amenities like shampoos, dryer, and customary beverages were also available. The managers, receptionists, doormen and all hotel staff were courteous and downright accommodating.

The hotel was about 15 minutes away from the Angkor Wat by tuk-tuks. And during our stay, we had the best, smiliest and friendly tuk-tuk driver based at the hotel, Mr Kearn (we called him Mr Lucky 11). He took us everywhere in our 3 days there and waited for us without fail. It was only when his daughter was sick and needed to visit the hospital that we bade him goodbye, not before giving him a sum of money for the doctor's fees.

Our Chinese-speaking Angkor guide also deserved a glowing praise here. Knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly, he obviously worked extra hard for his money. He knows the temples like the back of his hand, even when we "tested" him on the histories based on our guide books. In fact, he was so positive towards bettering his life we sponsored him in his computer course that he wished to take up for a long time.

In short, this had been the most thought-provoking trip for me. It laid bare the reality of life for the general Cambodians. Despite the hardships, their optimism towards life remains. To return to the sanctuary of Sokha Angkor after our visits reminded how fortunate and privileged we are.

This is one hotel I could highly recommend for those who are looking for an oasis amidst the vibrant hub-bub of this Cambodian city. In a word - excellent.

We visited Siem Reap for 5 days (from the 13th to 17th Feb'2010) and our stay at the Sokha was very satisfying.

We had booked online & called the Hotel in advance to request for an early check-in (at 10am). Not only did they agree, but upon arrival, we were checked-in in flat 10 minutes.

The service throughout was superb - always with a smile.
The Rooms are big, Clean and tastefully done up.

The Hotel is very well located - just 15 minutes from the Airport and barely 5 minutes (by the ubiquitous 'Tuk-Tuk') to the main city center (the Old Market & Night market).

The Buffet Breakfast has a fairly large spread, and the menu does change everyday
We didn't get to eat at their other restaurants - but they do have a large no. of options.

All in all, an excellant hotel - definitely value for money..
