My wife and spent our last 2 nights at the Sokha and it was great.
The staff was very helpful and the hotel itself, well, it was amazing.
The pool was very nice and the room we had faced the pool; I highly recommend this because you get a balcony, whereas the street facing rooms are sans balcony.
So, having stayed at 5 star hotels in the past, this one is up there with the better ones at a fraction of the price.

We came here as the first stop on our honeymoon tour of Cambodia. From the moment we arrived we loved the place. The hotel is beautiful and our room was fantastic, I don't think I've ever slept in a better bed. The hotel itself is ideally situated within a minutes walk from the main shopping area but far enough not to suffer traffic noise at all. Best of all though were the staff. Everyone we met here was lovely, they were so thoughtful, friendly and helpful. I can't thank them all enough. We both loved this place and one day I very much hope to return to Cambodia and Sokha Angkor. It was brilliant, I thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed here for 3 nights over Chinese New Year, one of the busiest and most comfortable seasons for Angkor Wat.. We were "updated" to this hotel by our travel agent because our original hotel was fully booked. The hotel is a solid "international" 5 star, and probably better than other "Cambodian" 5 star hotels. It is on a popular hotel street, in walking distance to where the nightlife is. Room was spacious. Bathroom was clean. Swimming pool looks fantastic, although I did not have a chance to enjoy it. Staff was friendly and helpful. They combined the two beds into one king size bed upon our request. We weren't able to book its famous spa. Breakfast buffet has a wide variety but is sometimes crowded.

My main complaints that cost Sokha one star are (1) the TV was an old CRT model that is buzzy and unclear. It was not fixed even after I requested maintenance. (2) the floor, made of wood panel, does not look or feel clean. This may be a problem of its age and not its actual cleanliness. The slippers provided, which seem to have been reused many many times, did not help. (3) No free wireless in the room. Bad news for my iPad. There is a wired cable.

Overeall this is a decent 5 star hotel worth recommending. Most 5 star hotels in Angkor Wat are not in the same league as those in Bali or Bangkok in terms of details and service; but they are luxury and relaxing in its own right. This is a great base to explore Angkor Wat.

Just spent a few days at the Sokha with the family (including 3 young children), can't rave enough. The hotel is in a great location, close to Pub St and the markets (walking distance if you want), but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle (and noise), and easy access to Angkor Wat and the other temples. The rooms were a good size, VERY comfortable beds, and the biggest kingsize bed I've ever seen! Beautifully furnished, and also the biggest standard bathtub I've ever had in a room - comes in handy with 3 kids! We had 2 interconnecting rooms overlooking the pool, lovely view and the waterfall is a relaxing background sound. The pool is huge and perfect for the kids, there is a shallow section (see the pictures) and the deeper part is only 1.40m at its deepest. Lovely waterfalls and stage area, VERY relaxing way to finish off the day after sightseeing. The staff were effortlessly efficient and friendly. EVERY staff member offered a welcome greeting , and they were fantastic with the kids. We arranged guides, cars, and tuk tuks through the concierge - all done effortlessly, service was outstanding. Had a fantastic time in Siem Reap, temples are amazing (goes without saying) but the staff are what made our stay just that bit more special, made us feel completely at home and it really was the icing on the cake. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitatiobn.

The hotel is one of the newest 5 star hotels in Siem Reap. I believe it is locally owned. The hotel has all the amenities for a 5 star hotel, including impeccable staff. The rooms are moderately large, with sufficient space in addition to the king bed. Internally facing room will have a view of the pool, whereas outside facing rooms may be bit noisy due to street noise. Breakfast and lunch buffet are very good, although it may seem limited to some other 5 star hotels. Beer at the pub and on the first floor serve ice cold beer at reasonable price. Excellent peanuts, by the way. Internet in the room is free and fast. Wifi available throughout the hotel.

The hotel is about 1 km to the market area where all the shopping stalls and restaurants are. Somewhat overrun with tourists, but this is a tourist destination after all. I was disappointed with Khmer Kitchen which received very high reviews. I would not eat there.
An excursion to Angkor Wat and the surrounding area is of course a must. Truly staggering scale or ancient civilization. The park can feel over run with tourists. I had colleagues go there early in the morning at 5 am and had wonderful visits. Another colleague did an ultralight ride over the Wats and said it was incredible. Probably worth doing if you have the time and money.

We stayed over in this hotel during the 2011 new year celebrations and it was a great experience. The staff were attentive, friendly and efficient and the quality and location was superb. Only a short tuk-tuk ride to Pub Street where all the eateries are. To top it all, the management headed by Mr McHenry presented my wife with a huge bouquet of roses and a scrumptious cheese cake with candles to celebrate my wife's birthday! I would highly recommend this hotel to any visitor to Siem Reap.

This is our first trip to Siem Reap and we were fortunate enough to pick this hotel to stay at for over 15 days. First of all it is the people that can make a difference. The General Manager, Guest Relations Officer, Front Office Staff, Breakfast Dining Room Staff, Japanese Restaurant Staff, Spa Staff, Pool Staff, Cleaning Staff, Front Door Staff, Guard/Traffic Staff - Everyone provided us with very professional and excellent service! Everyone was very helpful with anything that we needed - it was addressed immediately, efficiently and with a friendly and genuine attitude. Second, it is the hotel itself that makes it comfortable. This hotel is beautifully furnished and has quality everywhere. The rooms and beds are very large and the linens are divine! The restaurants are excellent and the pool area is beautiful! Third - it is located perfectly - to everywhere you want to go!
