This is a good place to stay in Seim Reip. Friendly staff, large rooms and EXCELLENT location. Can walk to everything and perfectly safe at night. Room was nicely furnished and there was enough pressure for a shower - water was not too hot but it is the tropics. Also importantly the hotel treated its own water so people dont have to worry about bushing their teeth with tap water. I paid $US75 to stay there and for that it was amazing value!

- The Web site offers prices for single/double rooms. If booking a double, there is a charge for an "extra person". The posted price is actually for single occupancy only. Clever, but not nice.

- The dining room is overpriced and the food is mediocre.

- Our room had a combination tub and shower (no shower curtain) and a fully glass-enclosed shower stall. Both offered hot water. There was not hot water at the sink. Shaving in cold water is commonplace in Asia, but for $130 a night, it's reasonable to expect hot water at the sink.

- We had to request towels from Housekeeping two days out of three.

- The check-in information makes reference to a "key card" although the room locked with a mechanical door lock, and no key card was presented. There is, however, a key card slot in the wall, and it must be operated in order to turn on the lights. Lacking a key card, a sheet of notepaper was folded into quarters and inserted into the key card slot so that the lights would work.

- A bedside touch panel operated the lights. It was incorrectly wired. "Sofa" turned on the outside light at the door; "Entrance" operated the light at the dressing area; "Dressing" operated the light at the desk; etc.

- The hotel promoted a $20.00 per person dinner theater, promising dinner from 7:00 to 8:00, dances from 8:00 to 8:25, and a shadow puppet show from 8:30 to 9:15. Dinner went as scheduled, although the advertised buffet was not offered. It was followed by one candle dance, and then by one puppet show performance, evidently put on by local high school kids. The whole affair was over by 8:20.

- The current rate of exchange, US Dollars to Cambodian Riel was 1:4019. The rate of exchange offered by the hotel was 1:3600. Hotels normally discount currency exchange rates, but 10% seems a bit much.

- At my request, the front desk promised to reconfirm our departing flight. After two days of evasions and excuses (Typical: "The phone is busy") we detoured from our tour of Tonle Sap and went to the airine office to reconfirm the reservations ourselves.

One or two of these items might have been considered "typical" of a hotel stay in Southeast Asia. Taken as a whole, they paint a picture of a facility with a pretentious lobby and a nice pool, but with a second rate operation behind the facade,

To give credit where it's due, they provide an excellent grade of toilet paper.

Stayed at Prince d'Angkor for 3 nights in September. We had arrived on the boat from Phnom Penh and felt rather sweaty and nasty when we arrived at this lovely huge hotel. The staff knew exactly what we needed - a cold napkin, fruit juice and a comfortable seat while they sorted out the check in!
Our deluxe room was spacious, very nicely decorated and the bed was extremely comfy!
The best thing was, however, the large salt water pool. Unbeatable after a long day trailing the fantastic temples.
Unlike many of the other reviewers I quite liked the breakfast buffet. It had a good selection of western and asian alternatives and a pretty good Pho. We had dinner at the hotel one night, which was average (as hotel dinners often are...), but had a couple of ok snacks at the poolside restaurant.
It has a central location close to restaurants and local markets.
I can definitely recommend staying at Prince d'Angkor.

As for seeing the temples, we hired a guide and tuk tuk driver directly from the temple guide association office. Very happy with that as well.

This hotel is fine. It's a huge hotel and most of its business comes from large travel groups booking in. Just myself and my partner stayed here. We felt much younger than any other guest. Room was fine, clean and spacious. Everything in the hotel is expensive. $3 for internet for hour, $4 for bottle of water in the room. My partner was sick while we were here and asked the hotel to call us a taxi to the hospital - most hotels will call a taxi for you. The hotel wanted to charge us $8 for the taxi one way so we opted for a $1 tuk tuk instead. This is hotel is fine but nothing special and i woudn't stay here again.

Stayed at Prince D'Angkor for 4 nights in October, 2007 to allow us to explore the magnificent temples of Angkor. The hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay. Nice comfortable well-appointed rooms, great location right in town, fabulous swimming pool, well priced, great service, handy for transportation, $4 massages in street out front, nearby convenience store, handy to markets and pub street.. the list goes on! I saw many other hotels in the area and on that tacky airport road - so glad we stayed here!
Our 5 yo daughter just loved frolicking in the gorgeous large pool and met a nice friend there.
The breakfast was OK - nothing too wonderful but quite sufficient for starting the day.
So easy to get around.. tuk tuks always parked out the front.. happy to take you to the temples or anywhere you want to go .. for such a reasonable price too!
When (I say when because we just loved Siem Reap!!!!) we return there is no doubt that we will stay again at this fabulous hotel.
I strongly encourage everyone to visit this wonderful country of Cambodia.. friendly, warm hearted people.. and the Angkor temples are just awe-inspiring! Will definately retun someday to explore further afield!

Lovely Hotel in heart of Siam Reap. All Hotels there of this rating seem to be of v good standard, but this was a low level, pretty looking hotel. Lovely ambience. Good staff, very clean rooms. Splendid pool and surrounds. Only food we ate there was breakfast - usual buffet style. Not best we had, but good.
Some nice restaurants nearby, try Miss Odum's, great food.
Highly recommend this hotel. If you can get a good rate go for it.
