Comfortable, clean, relaxing hotel with polite and helpful staff to assist us upon arrival
Decent spread served at the breakfast included and we also enjoyed a lovely Khmer set lunch on the day of our arrival.
Beautiful pool although we did not have much time to utilize it
Lobby was crowded and noisy at times due to the presence of a couple of korean and chinese tour groups during our stay but otherwise okay
Useful shuttle service to bring us to the Pub street, Night market, made travel very convenient

The rooms were kept clean although we noticed a couple of issues

1: The design of the bath tub caused water to always splash out the side and caused a puddle after every use which could be quite annoying and dangerous as it made the floor slippery

2. One of the sockets was popping out the wall. Needs maintenance as it could pose a danger

3. My friend noticed the hair dryer was broken with wires exposed. When she called housekeeping for an exchange, the staff asked her if she dropped the hair dryer and broke. She told the staff the hair dryer was already damaged when we found it. They sent another 2 staff to our room on 2 separate trips (1 to collect the hair dryer, the 2nd to bring a replacement). Both staff again asked if my friend dropped the hair dryer and broke it. We feel the house keeping staff should make it a point to check if your hotel appliances/facilities are in proper order before hand over. It was pretty annoying to get the feeling that we were being accused of the hotel's staff's own negligence in maintenance

Room Tip: ask for room on a higher floor, away from the lift lobby

It was a nice stay. Excellent hotel, confortable and gently people. Good to relax and swim in the evening after a visit to Angkor. The room was very good, large, clean and with a nice view. The shuttle to Siem Reap is usefful.

Excellent staff. Very pleasant stay, and lovely full-size swimming pool. Highly recommended. The hotel provides a shuttle to the old market, and it is also easy to get a tuc-tuc. Breakfast is included in our room rate, and you get a good variety of choices.
The receptionists are all very helpful, especially Mrs. Praneep (not sure of the correct spelling), she would go out of her way to help you with different directions and services. We would definitely stay here again if we have the chance to revisit Siem Reap.

If you are in a group of 50 people, this is probably the right hotel, it handles bus loads of tourists everyday , some quite noisy...the decor is without any character, either in the lobby , the bedrooms or the restaurant. Everything is just ok, up to the standard, breakfast facilities but the overall qualifier I would give that hotel is: boring. Not a place I would come as a couple...

We decided to book Royal Angkor over Sofitel and Le Meridian. These are the only(?) 3 Five * hotels there. While the other 2 have a pretty decent international reputation, Royal Angkor is a local brand. It does not disappoint! Our stay was very pleasant and a memorable one. For a 1/3 of the price of the other 2 hotels, you cannot go wrong. Quality is very good. Staff are very friendly and speak English. Rooms are very clean. The bathroom is outstanding! Pool is very nice. Restaurants have ample choices (even for Vegetarians like us), very good Spa (complimentary foot massages) and sumptuous breakfasts. The entire experience is very pleasant and if you go to Siem Reap to check out the Angkor and surrounding temples, you will come back tired to a very calming stay. The staff need special recognition - very helpful and friendly bunch starting from the Resident Manager to the people at the reception, door man, restaurant staff etc. Only downside could be - if you want to party. It is a hike from the main party areas (Pub street). Quite convenient to get to from the Airport. Will definitely go back there next time I go to Siem Reap.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the pool. Good view and private balcony.

This hotel was our last stop of our 2 week stay in Cambodia. We booked in for 4 nights. All of our other choices had met & exceeded our expectations. This was not the case here. Our room was a good location with a great view of the lovely pool below. We also enjoyed using the pool after a long, sweaty day at Ankor Wat! The downside of this was the rather "moldy, or wet towel" smell that was in our room. Also, if we left the balcony door open for even a few minutes, we were bombarded with bugs!

We also had "bugs" in the bathroom, maybe coming up from the drain?.. not sure, but I didn't like it! lol! Hopefully, this is just a "one off" , as others have seemed to love their stay. We, personally, couldn't wait to leave! Granted, we didn't mention it to the staff, which , if we would've, Im sure they would've given us a different room, as the staff was most accommodating!

From the moment we got there we were treated like Royalty. The language barrier often a problem in Cambodia was not a problem at the Royal Angkor as the staff speak several languages. The buffet breaky was great and reception were always helpful with any questions we had with each days adventures. Definitely going back to Siem Reap and will be staying at the Royal Angkor Resort when I do. *****
