Concur with other posts that some of the staff were excellent - going out of their way to help. However, this is negated by poor service by others including reception staff and breakfast restaurant staff - who just did not have the service culture. In fact, the staff manning the egg station was almost surly.

Room was jaded; although adequately appointed. Try to request for rooms facing the pool.

Room Tip: Ask for pool-facing rooms.

I love this hotel- I have stayed here many times! clean- great food- great pool and very friendly staff! Worth the time and money! When you stay you MUST use one of the TUK TUK drivers who is assigned to the Royal Angkor "Mr Darah"- he is the best! I have worked with many different drivers over the years in Cambodia and he was by far the best one~ Great English, understands foreigners and took us everywhere we needed to go with no complaints or issues- he made our travel plans a breeze.
Be prepared to see "lots of tourists" in the hotel lobby, they come and go at all hours of the night- typical!
the manager Mr Leitao was most accommodating and was more than willing to see our needs were met during our time there! Love this place!

Quite a nice hotel with all the facilities that one would want at a hotel . The house keeping left abit
to be desired and the drainage wasn't good in the bathroom . The staff were very helpfull but at times there were communication breakdowns . The prices of things in the hotel are dearer than in town but that is to be expected . The pool area is large and it was good to come home after a day of temples and have a dip and a cold beer . The Restuarant food was nice but the menu is a bit limited and it takes quite a while to get your food . All in all a nice stay but would try somewhere else next time . It is also a long way from town .

Stayed here with a party of 8 (4 superior rooms) for 4 nights at Christmas 2012. Found the staff generally to be quite helpful although there were several instances of miscommunication and staff not understanding our requests.

I think this is a hotel where quite a few groups come through. We found the housekeeping to be hit and miss at times with a couple of the days towels and various things not being replenished. Maintenence of the place seemed average, however 1000 times better than the surrounding city so can be forgiven?

We enjoyed the hotel surrounds, and the Spa was great. If you go, try to get the "boss lady" she is certainly the best!

Overall I did enjoy my trip here.

Room Tip: Don't have a tip about the room, but if you are going to Cambodia do not even bother changing to...

After a long, uncomfortable and exhausting journey from Bangkok by bus, this place was heaven! We were greeted by the friendliest faces, offered an upgrade to our room and given fresh juice and hot towels. And this was only five minutes after we arrived! Check-in was a breeze as the front desk staff are beyond helpful. They made every effort to ensure that we were taken care of and comfortable. The hotel also offers free taxi service to and from the airport. The breakfast is great with many western and Asian options to choose from. The pool is cool and refreshing, especially after a long hot day at the temples. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Also, the hotel offers free shuttle services to and from the town, where most of the restaurants and shopping is. The temples are only a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride away. All in all, I would recommend this hotel in a heart beat. Thank you to the staff at Royal Angkor for making our trip all the more memorable.

We stayed a week at this great hotel/resort and the end of December 2012 and do not have a word of complaint. The staff were all genuinely most friendly and helpful, always ready with a warm smile and happy greeting. Our room, with open-air balcony, overlooked the large swimming pool and rear courtyard, with views to distant green hills, deserves a five-star rating. Every request was met with immediate and courteous response. The resident manager, Mr Juliao Antonio Leitao, spoke to us a number of time, unobtrusively seeking our views on the resort, services, food and general ambience.
Everywhere you look in this stylish edifice there are tasteful and skillfully displayed artifacts, Buddhist statuary, elegant furnishings and always displays of fresh flowers.
We found the Royal Angkor an ideal base for visits to the many fascinating temple sites in the surrounding Siem Reap area, and a courtesy bus service provided access to the main city area with its wonderful Old Market, shops and good restaurants.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in November. We were welcomed by the most lovely staff who went above and beyond for everyone who stayed at the resort. We received a room upgrade when we got there and had a lovely stay. Our room was very clean and big with a view of the pool. The resort is big with a large swimming pool and a great restaurant which had many different choices. The resort offers a free shuttle to and from the town all day which is really helpful and they also have many tour options to visit the temples and other things around Siem Reap. Overall we were very impressed with the polite, friendly and helpful staff which made the trip all the more enjoyable. We can't wait to get back to Siem Reap to stay at Royal Angkor Resort again!!

Room Tip: Deluxe room with pool view
