Spent a couple of fantastic nights here it was so hot we couldn't do much. The position of the hotel is so central, the market is right next door and the pool was a small escape to how hot it was a little lagoon a small walk away from the kings road the new shopping and restaurant area.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time and if I was to come back I would stay again here.

I have been to Cambodia a couple of times now and I have stayed at the Shadow 1 and the Shadow 2 in the past and have loved it.

This trip we stayed at their newest property and it is the only place to stay in siem reap!

Let's start with the location. Perfect! It's on a quiet street, so you can sleep at night. But it is less than a 5 minute walk to the exciting area of pub street, the night markets, the restaurants and all the fun of the town.

The rooms are very well equipped with everything you need and want and their housekeeping team keep your room and all the public areas perfectly spotless and clean. Fantastic bathrooms too and great aircon which is needed there! The pool is a great place to relax in after a long day at the temples and enjoying a cocktail poolside in the afternoon is bliss!

But it is the service which is the main reason this is the best place to be, and I think for most this is the best reason why one should go anywhere. Everyone is just so friendly and so helpful. They will organise anything for you with absolute pleasure and their team of well trained drivers will take you anywhere you want to go that you knew about or didn't! We also got the opportunity to meet the owners who are utterly charming and so happy to help.

We stayed here 4 nights and loved it. The restaurant there only covers breakfast but their restaurant at shadow 1 was the perfect place to go for either dinner or great cocktails and tapas before heading into the centre of town for a night out.

Go here and you won't be disappointed!

Price on Agoda $24 includes breakfast, nice hotel, new, clean, nice pool, 500 metres to city centre. HOWEVER, I ask to stay another night & lady says now $30 ???? Why, because on Agoda must pay commission, so I say if I pay you now, cash you save $$$. She say no, so I say I will go onto Agoda & book again for another 3 nights at $24. She says if I do that she will not honour free breakfast. So what is on Agoda she will not honour. When I leave she ask why ?? OK I give room to you $25 (no breakfast). Still more than what Agoda price is. So I leave, never to go back. Nice hotel, stupid greedy local chasing a few dollars, I would have stayed 3 or 4 more nights, instead she lose & gets nothing.

Hi Ackshon, we are very sorry you had such a negative experience at our hotel, rated us so badly and made an unjustified personal attack on our excellent owner. Just to clear up some of the "facts" you stated, our price on Agoda is and has been for the majority of the off-season-$24.99 per night Not including 21% taxes- so that take our price up approximately $30.25US per night. Yes, we pay a small commission to Agoda on the top of this but unlike some other hotels we offer Agoda customers a good price-as it helps us to build our reputation quickly for this year's high season (with more people reviewing us online staying, when booking with Agoda). As we a new hotel, we are operating at our "Break -even" point in order to build up our reputation before the high season this year; so we really couldn't have reduced the price any further unless you opted for our without breakfast option ($25 per night )- we understand you were not happy with the extended stay price, but our reception staff offered you our walk in prices for the low season ($30 per night including breakfast or $25 per night not including breakfast). which is actually slightly cheaper than the price you paid on Agoda. As for not honoring an Agoda booking, there is no way that we ruin our good working relationship with Agoda by not honoring one of their bookings, our excellent reception staff always honor the price and conditions of an Agoda Booking. If you had booked again on Agoda you would had paid $90.75 for 3 nights and we would have honored with booking, as we do with all our Agod bookings. We are sorry if this was not explained to you clearly at the time and because of this you did not enjoy your stayed with us. If your ever in Siem Reap again and would like any further clarification please don't hesitate to contact us- Management Team, Shadow Of Angkor Group

We ended up staying at Shadow Angkor Inn when Shaddow of Angkor I and II were full. We paid around 30 dollars a night for a 2 bed room. The room was very nice. The room also had a shower with hot water. The AC worked great which we needed! The staff is very helpful and most speak decent English. The pool was also very nice after a long day of visiting the temples. Just make sure you are in before 11 pm otherwise the doors are locked and you will have to wake up the security guard.

The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the big night markets, yet in a quiet location.

Room Tip: There isn't an elevator so if you have large luggage be prepared to carry them up the stairs.

We were scheduled to check out the next day, but my husband got sick. The staff were so helpful, found another room for us, helped me change our flight. By the time we left, we were recharged and ready to continue our journey.
Nearly every day, we ate breakfast at their restaurant attached to Shadow I a short walk to the other side of the river. Friendly staff and consistently good food.
