This hotel had a great location, right near true action in the township.
Not impressed that I had booked & paid for a room with a king bed and was
given a room with 2 soft creaky single beds, I complained & the guy just did not care.
The reception staff are surly, unpleasant & don't even make an attempt to be pleasant.

The door men, bell boys & restaurant staff, however were very nice & friendly.

Breakfast was a poor boring selection, same offering each day.

Some of the light in the room did not work, bad mattress, rubbish pillows.

Stay if u want good location, nothing else

This is our second visit to this hotel so when booking we new exactly which building we wanted. We were told on arrival this was not possible and were put into a room at the back of the building with terrible views which was not acceptable. We were moved the next morning to the building we had requested in the first place which was far superior. The good thing about this hotel is it is so central a few minutes walk to all the restaurants and bars. I would not say the staff are particularly helpful. The place could do with a facelift a bit tired looking now but still value for money.

If you go to Siem Reap and don't want to stay in the very expensive and poorly located big hotels, but still want a good, comfortable room, Steung Siem Reap Hotel is a very good choice. Although I have eaten better breakfasts during this trip, I found the location of this hotel absolutely perfect since it is only a few minutes walk to the night market, some great restaurants (including the Blue Pumpkin which serves what must be the best ice cream of all Cambodia) and nice boutiques where you will find beautiful souvenirs (particularly Senteurs d'Angkor and Kokoon). The staff doesn't speak very good English but they were always very polite and very helpful, our room was comfortable and very clean, and overall our 3 nights stay was very pleasurable.

We have stayed at the hotel at least 10 times. However this visit will be our last.
During 1 day 3 times we witnessed a woman, who later found out was the owner, speaking loudly and aggressively towards her employees.
We found her staff excellent . We had built up excellent relationships with the staff during our many visits.. and this time we discovered many have left. Now we know why
No one should have to endure the humiliation of being spoken to in this manner in front of hotel guests.
We could find no reason for her appalling behaviour.
No wonder the was a sign outside advertising hotel job vacancies.
We are very sad to have to write this but, having held senior management positions in the hospitality business, . you do not treat your staff in this way.
The hotel is in an excellent location but within 5 minutes walk you can find an hotel every bit as good.

The only thing going for this hotel is the location. The staff can't speak very good English and don't want to help you at all. They don't care if there is problem. The toilet was broken the shower is bad. And the breakfast is poor, it's like they only put enough out when it's all gone forget about any more coming out. Don't go at 9:30 like we did because there is nothing. Asked for a boiled egg and they said no. Asked for a map and we got a crappy photo copy map that you could hardly read. Very bad service. Look around sure you could find way better we hated it.

I was in SR for 3 weeks and the hotel was great. My last trip I stayed at the Raffles and while nice it was expensive and inconvenient. The Steung location was so central, we could walk to Pub Street and the markets. English was not great but staff was very professional and helpful. Would recommend highly and would stay on my next trip

I was in town for only 2 nights with the main purpose of my stay being to visit Angkor Wat. The hotel conveniantly has a package which includes accomodation, transfers, breakfast, driver, English speaking tour guide and entry into Angkor Wat for a day.

Our driver was of exceptional quality. He was punctual, friendly and incredebly helpful. The hotel was extremely clean and well looked after. The service we received from all hotel staff was nothing short of great and the location is another plus with it being located within a quick stroll to pub street where all the main nightlife, resturants and local markets lie.

I would most definately stay here again should I return to Siem Riep for another visit.
