Something a little different.
Something more compact.
Something recently restored.

Top tip?
As you leave toward the rear, don't forget to turn round and try to pick out the "reclining Buddha" (lying on it's side) built in to the back wall.

Beautiful temple surrounded by a forest with mossy stones. There's a large Buddha lying on his side and its formed with the stones near the back. Nice to climb to the top and get a view of the surrounding areas as well.

Wonderfully restored approach to the temple and ease of access is a plus. The causeway approach is a wonderful entry with a pool of water on one side. One of the easiest temples take photos inside. A added bonus is he lack of other tourists meaning photos can be taken without others being in them.

It's a short walk from Bayon to Baphuon Temple so we headed that way. It was cool to walk the long path that leads to the temple from the road. It's a three-tiered temple with the typical steep stairs and the view from the top was alright - don't expect to see an overhead view of too many things nearby, it's not "that" tall a structure. The climb, although steep, was not too difficult thanks to the railings. Just remember that going down is more tricky sometimes when the steps are narrow. It's still well worth the climb if you can manage it, for the satisfaction of getting the top.

Must do -if you do Bayon its not a long walk to this temple -If you only have one day In Siem Riep This is must do! Allow good 2 hours -has a steep climb via stairs but good views-also see lying buddha on rock face as you leave-you can get a guide book at site for $4-$5 and self guide thats what we did!
