“An ethnic feel with top quality”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

This hotel is a gem: the building is small and beautifully fitted with local wood and artefacts and beautifully clean. For once you can wake in an hotel and not wonder what country you are staying in. The staff are extremely well trained, polite and obliging. Menu in the restaurant was excellent and local (again how nice to eat the local cuisine).
The travel department attached to the hotel could not be more obliging.
If you want to see Angkor Wat and sample the real feel of Cambodia - visit this hotel.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet: gorgeous local wood: delightful swimming pool

Arrived to the hotel by tuk-tuk. The first impressions were amazing, amazing garden with many plants, flowers, statues, swimming pool and great welcome drink for refreshment :) The rooms were fantastic, well furnitured, clean, with AC and fan.

After checking we got our guide and tuk-tuk (ordered both from the hotel) and want to Angkor. Wow, it was amazing! I can not imagine, how they can construct such kind of temples in that time:)

Returned to the hotel late afternoon. Still was hot and humid, so tried the swimming pool, was really refreshing! Spent the evening in the hotel, reserved a table for dinner. The meals were really great with mindful staff! We ordered a small cake for my sister, I guess, she had a really memorable birthday :) The staff bring the cake with 3 candles by singing happy birthday... And the cake was the present of the house :)

After a long and fatigue day slept really well. After the great lunch went back to research Angkor. We were lucky with the weather, started only rain, when almost finished the day. At the evening we tried the massage service in the hotel. U should try traditional khmer massage, U will not forget it! :)

The next morning we had left the hotel and Angkor very sadly. Hope, I can go back there one more time in my life, it was so amazing! :)

One of the best accomodations I have experienced!
The room is very spacious and beautifully designed with Cambodian motiff in mind.
Also, a nice pool is readily available after a long day.

The staff are polite, pleasant and always ready to help.
Bunta, our tuktuk driver is very nice and friendly. He told us a lot about the ins and outs of the place.
He made sure we get good deals out of our shopping.

Overall, I definitely recommend this place. =)

Beautiful small hotel, very friendly staff, excellent food and beautiful setting, with pool. We stayed for a fee days visiting temples and Tonle Sap from here. The location for this is perfect. Took tuk tuk to Siem Reap main streets, but scurried back for the tranquility here! Excellent massage at the hotel spa. A great find.

We get the best value for our money for staying at HanumanAlaya. The hotel is cozy and quiet to relax and unwind, and is ideally located and close to major places of interest in Siem Reap. The rooms are lovely, the food is good and the service is excellent.

Our time at Hanuman was a highlight to our month is Asia. It exceeded our expectations. We spent 8 days in Siem Reap. After an inspiring day of seeing temples and exploring the region, we would relax by the pool, enjoy delicious food and excellent service. Conveniently located near the temples and just a quick tuk tuk ride to the night market. The interior was exceptionally well appointed, filled with beautiful artifacts. The Spa service was excellent, with many options reasonably priced. Everything was to our liking, but especially the staff.

Room Tip: All rooms were top notch. Cannot go wrong.

We came here for 3 nights to see the temples after visiting Phnom Phen, and I must say this hotel is very unique compared to other hotels I've stayed in. Having no air con was actually a great thing because I could fully feel the environment without hiding in a room to cool down all the time! I really liked the breakfast as there were a selection of food to choose from at the buffet table, but we could also choose from the breakfast menu. Our room was small but cozy and the decorations were just so lovely, the scented candles and oilment were heavenly. Although this hotel was a little far away from the city, but anything we needed was just a tuk-tuk away! My mum is good at price bargaining so it was fine for us. :) I did not use the pool but it looked just lovely, I also had some of the poolside food and I really enjoyed it. We took loads of pictures of the hotel because we loved the deco so mucho! The library was so cool too and we borrowed a book about the temples to look at. Staff, needless to say, were so lovely and helpful and I want to say a huge thank you to them. Thank you. If I ever come back to Cambodia, I will surely stay here again.
