“Worth a look”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2011

A lovely setting in a secluded garden, very comfortable rooms with firm beds, excellent bathroom, sparkling swimming pool, and wonderfully friendly and delightful staff. Very standoffish manager -- never introduced herself during an eight night stay. Restaurant food very good quality most of the time (the curries and daily specials were great, the breakfast yogurt should be avoided). We agree with a previous poster that lighting in bedrooms could be improved, but unlike other post, we encountered no problems with insects beyond what one might normally expect in a tropical environment. Location will seem a bit inconvenient at first, but worth it to be out of town in quieter neighborhood, and transport into town via tuk-tuk is simple to arrange. One other perk is hotel's proximity to the international hospital. Overall, given the abundance of great hotel choices in Siem Reap, it's possible to find the same quality elsewhere, but I would count this as an excellent and reliable choice.

This is a very pretty boutique hotel but there were a number of things which would make me NOT recommend it. For example, the pool is gorgeous but there are few lounges and most are secluded in a garden area, not at the pool. Mosquitoes are an issue in Siem Reap and the lush gardens seem to cater to them, not that they were terrible, only worrisome. the dining area is similarly just along the pool and again, mosquitoes are a bit of an issue.
There is no enclosed lobby, so if you want to leave your room for a bit, you cannot have air conditioning and it is hot and humid in Siem Reap. Even the one computer is in a common area that is not air conditioned.
Although staff were very solicitous, their English is poor, whether reception or wait staff. Reception tried to be helpful, but was not very helpful due to poor communication.
As to the rooms, ours was a second floor, but I found the steps an unusually uncomfortable space apart, making them very difficult. The room is quite nice except for the lighting which is appallingly poor. There are three chandalier size lamps in the entire main bedroom. Trying to read in the evening was very difficult. It was very annoying.
We also had ants in our bathroom, not a big deal but not great either. They infestated our tooth brushes! We had a problem with our toilet but this was fixed.
Most of the guests while we were there were French speaking and socializing with other guests was minimal. we spoke to one couple there the entire time we were there. (3 nights)
Breakfast was included, and ok, but selection was limited and even for three days, seemed repetitive.
The Tuk Tuk driver we had, Thai, was very friendly and we were very happy with him. He is regularly stationed outside the hotel.
It is about 10 min. by Tuk Tuk to the town centre and a $5 return fare.
AS I said, we just did not love it, for a variety of reasons.

Very charming hotel, not far for the centre of Siem Reap and the temples.
Friendly staff.
A good place to rest and enjoy this exceptional site.

Not sure what to say about this place. I think that it may have been a lot better when it originally opened, certainly showing its age a bit now. The room that we were staying in was nice enough – dated though – looked like they had attempted to do up the hotel in the early 2000s, but not to much acclaim.

The staff were nice enough, however, hardly any of them can string together a sentence in English. At most times this was not a problem as we did not sit around the hotel during the day. We preferred either to be at the temples or spend our time in Siem Reap town centre – which is about a 10 – 15min tuk tuk ride away. On that note, our Tuk Tuk driver from the hotel – Hai (I think that’s how you spell his name, pronounced Hi) was great!

The problem with the staff not speaking much English came when we wanted to check out in the morning. We wanted to pay the remainder of the balance for the room before we went out for the day (our flight was not until the evening), but the person on reception did not understand us. So, we went in to town with the thought that we would pay for everything later. When we returned later in the day to pick up our luggage and pay, we were presented with our bill. There were a few discrepancies on the bill that we wanted to discuss, however, out of the 4 members of staff that were gathered around the reception, none of them could understand what we wanted clarified. We asked for the manager who spoke english, but he was not around. In the end I just paid the bill because we would of been late for our flight, even though I am sure that we were charged more than we should of been, but without a staff member who spoke english, there wasn't much we could do. Unfortunately, something like this just taints your entire stay and because of this, I wouldn't stay here again, rather I would probably stay in town.

I was staying for the second time in this hotel. It is a small hotel with quite surrounding and cottages around a swimming pool. Although this time the swimming pool was non operational due to torrential rains, other services were as last time, excellent. I hired a tuktuk and guide also from the hotel at reasonable price.
Deing a second time visitor I was given a upgrade to Jr.Suite. It was quite similar to other rooms but with a tub bath. Only problem was that the capacity of the hot water boiler was to fill the bath to a quarter only.
This Jr.Suite is little bit away from the main lounge so the WiFi connectivity is a bit patchy.
Service and the surrounding are the strength of this hotel.

Despite being located off a busy road, it's probably one of the most quiet, tranquil boutique hotels i've ever been to. When we entered into the reception lobby, it was almost like we were immediately transported into another place ... so serene and peaceful. And to be greeted by Joffrey, the manager who remembers all his guests by name on arrival ... WOW!

And we agree with some other recommendations posted: The photos on their website does not do the hotel any justice.

We definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to get away, get pampered and be 100% relaxed.

We had a 4 night package and would have stayed longer if there had been availability. The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained The staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious with plenty of variety . Although a little out of town a Tuk Tuk was always there to transport you. I highly recommend this Villa as a nice, comfortable place to stay while in Siem Reap.
