Le Maison d'Angkor is on the main route from the airport, but is a surprising oasis of lush greenery set back from the road.

There are several little white houses with balconies facing the pool. The pool is really the center of the hotel, with the small bar, restaurant, PC and main lobby all connected to the area. They have a decent happy hour from 5 - 7pm by the pool.

We stayed at Le Maison d'Angkor for a full week during the month of August. Our room was above reception, and appeared to be the only one in that particular building. The room was quite large, with a huge balcony surrounded by bamboo trees and many plants. The bed was comfortable and the room was very private.

The bathroom was small for two but modern. Housekeeping was great, the service at the pool bar was very friendly and engaging. I used their PC a couple of times, and the internet connection was slow, but frankly that's okay when I'm on vacation!

The front desk staff and the General Manager were helpful in guiding us whether it was for dinner or other activities around town. We found the tuk-tuks just outside the driveway to be reasonable and could get us pretty much anywhere we wanted in town for dinner. We went out for most dinners in town as there's a lot to choose from vs. eating at the hotel restaurant every night. The breakfast was good though after about five days we could have benefited from a bit more variety, the quality was consistent and the service was very pleasant.

Overall, I would stay here again. While it's not a five-star, it's a tasteful, boutique hotel with everything you could need during a visit to Siem Reap.

We had a wonderful time. The rooms, service, and meals more than met our expectations. The driver and guide arranged thru the hotel spoke excellent English and were extremely knowledgeable and patient. It was a great place to relax at the end of our temple tours-and loved watching the geckos run on the windows and walls. Bob

We stayed at this resort during low season and as a result, it was very peaceful and we had the lovely pool to ourselves most of the time. The room was modern and clean, and period in style, consistent with the overal colonial period feel of the resort. The location was just out of town, so nice and peaceful and only a 5 minute tuk tuk ride to town. We would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to others.

The hotel itself is lovely - nicely fit-out, immaculately clean, and friendly staff. it is quiet and intimate and a great place to relax in the pool after a day at the temples. The downside for me was that it was just too far from the centre of town - a 10-15 minute tuk-tuk ride, and although the hotel organises transport for you it can become both expensive and tedious with all the to-ing and fro-ing. As a french property, the majority of the guests were (unsurprisingly) French ... when travelling alone, and not a french speaker, this also made for a bit more isolation than I would have preferred. Still the food was good, the massage was lovely and if you are looking for quiet and more out-of-the-way hotel then this would be the right place for you.
