“Better than expected!”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

The hotel is situated in a quiet street but yet only a few minutes walk to the old market area, a good place to stay if you love shopping in town. It is also near pub street where you can get decently priced food in Siem Reap. To get to town, you would have to cross a couple of rather wide road. The art market is also nearby.

There are a few convenience store near the hotel that also offers laundry service. The rooms are decently sized for 3 of us and is generally clean. The breakfast has enough variety of food to satisfy our hunger. We arrived too early for check-in but the hotel did try to accommodate us by providing a room that has been vacated. Upon arrival, we were provided with a refreshing orange juice and cold, fragrant face towel.

The room comes with a kettle to boil water, which is important for people who are travelling with children. I find that our room aircond does not work too well when turned on for too long.

We also tried their room service, the food quality was good and comes with decent quantity. However it was a tad bit salty, but this may be a norm across the food in Siem Reap.

Generally, the staff is friendly and helpful but service is rather slow, which may be a reflection of the pace of life in Siem Reap. I tried to call the reception through the room phone and no one picked up. We had to call the room service a few times to get our extra bed.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back of the hotel faces a private apartment and they are very near the hotel. We h...

Hotel was great. Room was clean and big. Great location. Only 5-10 min walk to the market depending on how fast you walk. Booked free airport pickup with the hotel and Mr. Mop picked us up. He was really nice so we arranged all rides with him. We also booked our temple tour with the hotel for the sunrise tour since we wanted to spend less time in the sun because of the temperature. Hotel packed us breakfast to take with us since we will miss the complimentary breakfast. Hotel food is great too. Their pizza!!! Yummm!!!

Pros:
- Great location - within walking distance to the Siem Reap River, crossing a wooden bridge to the market and the restaurant/bar precinct
- The deluxe room was very spacious, clean and comfortable
- Two nice swimming pools - salt and normal
- Rooftop bar has a good view of Siem Reap and its surroundings
- Good breakfast spread - mixture of Western and Cambodian
- Good friendly service at the reception and dinning room
- Tututs at the front of the hotel in case you need one
- Shower and air conditioning problems were promptly fixed
- There is an in house Aspara cultural dinner show at the rooftop restaurant/bar a few times a week
- Able to leave our luggage with the hotel before we could check in

Cons:
- We had a balcony, but only corridor views
- There were noisy birds kept in an aviary on the ground floor beneath our balcony. It didn't bother us but other customers may not like it
- Road leading to the hotel from the main road roundabout was very dusty. Road was unsealed due to flood damage
- We arrived early at 9am tired but could only check in at 1pm, Has to kill a few hours wondering around town in 30+ degree heat
- Maintenance issue - Had a semi-blocked shower drainage and the air conditioning wasn't cool enough even when set to max

Unfortunately we arrived at the RCH about 8.30 am, and of course check in wasn't until 2. The staff were fantastic, gave us a drink and map, towels for the pool and locked our bags away. RCH has 2 pools both very refreshing and clean. The free wifi was great. Our room had a balcony but you couldn't really use it and it didn't have a view you would want to see and look at anyway. Having said that our room was a good size and had everything you need. The hotel is clean and the staff very helpful. The breakfast was a really good buffet, plenty of choice and tasty food. On the morning we headed to Angkor Wat for the sunrise they packed our breakfast. RCH is on the quiet side of the river, but only about 300 metres to the thriving pub street area. Highly recommend

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location was great, very convenient for the town. The rooms were clean and all we needed was there. The staff were always friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice for breakfast although the breakfast box for a sunrise trip to Ankhor Wat was disappointing. The roof top bar was good especially for the happy hour. We went on a three day visit to the temples organised by the hotel and both the driver and guide were great. We would definitely recommend our guide as he was very knowledgeable about the temples and told us lots about the recent history of Cambodia.
