“Great adventure in a luxury setting!”
Reviewed 1 September 2009

Thank you Heritage Suites for making our trip the highlights of our tour in southeast asia!
We had a beautiful suite room named “Jasmine” which had a really comfortable bed, nice garden and a nice bathtub. Although the TV was available upon request, we really didn’t need it at all during our trip. After seeing the temples (we loved the Bayon) with the help of our kind tour guide provided by the hotel, it was nice to just chill out at the pool with some fresh drinks. The best adventure however was when we hopped in the “quad” and went around the forest, saw the local villages, the farms, and the local people who were waving their hands as we pass by! We were glad we took the half day for that just before we left, and it was a memory of a lifetime. Thanks again to all the staff of Heritage Suites / Adventures and the Cambodian people!

A very pleasant hotel. The staff are charming and helpful - and speak English reasonably well. It is all very clean and decently maintained with a good looking swimming pool, a reasoanble but limited restaurant and a decent bar/lounge. Even in the monsoon season, with the hotel almost empty, the service was all present and correct. You will find it quietly off the beaten track - or cut off and isloated, according to taste.

But the problem is: is it worth it? Does it really rate five stars? The standard rooms (I did not see the buglalow/villa suites but was offered an upgrade at $50 a night) have no tv (but they will get you one if you ask); no bath tub, only a hower; a seperate toilet - with no wash basing, so you have to trot round to the shower room to wash your hands; large windows, giving onto the access balcony, akking you visible to passers by; nowhere to stow your luggage and limited wardrobe/drawer space; the air conditioning only just copes. But there is very fast Internet access.

Anyone with limited mibility should be ware of this place - the rooms are accessed by steps which are badly lit and wet in the rain; and the dining room - in a gallery round the bar - is accessed by a steep, badly lit, staircase.

But the staff are all very nice! The whole place is very nice - but is it worth the price?

Location: The hotel is located in Sieam Reap, in a quiet area of the town, 10 minutes walk form the centre. There is mosque close by, so you hear the muezzin sometimes - but this is OK as it is part of charme.

The hotel consists of a old main house with the lobby and the restaurant, nicely renovated and nicely decorated, modern meets ancien times! Then there is a side tract with some small standard rooms, a small garden with the lovely pool and a pool bar where you can have the breakfast. Behind the pool there are the suites (semi-detached).
There is no gym nor any other facility, but you don't come here to do all the usual stuff, you are here to relax after Angkor Wat!

Rooms: the suites are really nice - large rooms (not suites tough) with an open bathroom and a small patio. The furniture is modern with bright colors, very stylish and nice! Very clean. Not overly luxurious, but very charming!

Restaurant/Service: good quality of food, the service is nice, sometimes a bit slow but OK as they are really friendly.

I can really recommend this place as it is a small charming place and far away from the tipical Siem Reap Tourist Hotels! It is what I expected from aRelais&Chateau, charming, nice, good standard without over the top luxury, and nice and friendly - you feel at home here!

And of course everyone comes here to visit the great temples, they are just fantastic - and after a whole day of sightseeing, walking, etc, there is nothing more relaxing than coming back to this place!

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. We were offered to upgrade our reservation (a deluxe room) into a suite for 50$ more each night...we couldn't resist and accepted.
Since the hote was not full at all, we believe they could have charged us less or upgrade us for free since we were with friends and booked 2 suites...anyway, business is business.
Suites are huge and marvelous! Design is very nice, I saw a gecko in my room though....
The pool is very nice as well, and the breakfast very rich.
I have to point out that it is not very fair from the hotel to make very big margins on the services and activities they are providing since they are higher than the market price.
It's true that the location is not in the center, it is very quiet, but the street lacks light on night time and it makes the area a bit scary at night.
Staff is over nice! very friendly.
Super front desk, super maid...
I recommend

We were greeted by the manager with refreshing drinks and a big smile. She showed us the lobby which was very beautiful and the pool and grounds which were well maintained and quite lovely. She showed us another room with a steamroom and outside shower which we could upgrade to for more money. We felt our room was fine, modern with tile floors. We knew we would be doing a lot of sightseeing and wouldn't spend much time in the room. If you were planning to spend a lot of time at the resort it might be worth the upgrade. The first night there was a beautiful fruit basket waiting for us in our room.

Breakfast was delicious. You could order American or Asian. Omeletes were made to order, the homemade yogert was delicious. We had one dinner in the hotel. I thought the prices in the restaurant were a bit high. The staff recommended a restaurant in town called the Blue Pumpkin. We ended up eating there three times, it was so good!

Everyone in the hotel was very friendly. We found a little gift at the foot of our bed every evening which was so thoughtful!

We would definitely recommend the Herritage Suites Hotel. It is a beautiful gem in Siem Reap!

If you are looking for a very quiet, out of the way sanctuary, far from the throngs of tourists that invade the temples, then select the Heritage. It is perfect for Honeymooners who want to be left alone. As a family, we felt out of place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room facilities are a bit odd. One of surprises was that the toilet was located in a closet by the front door. In order to wash your hands, you have to cross the entire room to find the sink. In place of where the toilet should be is a sauna that did not work in our room. For those of you who have toured the temples in July know, a sauna is the last thing on your wish list. The deluxe rooms are rather plain jane. Opt for the Bungalows which they will be happy to upgrade you to for a few more $.

The pool is well maintained and the attendants are friendly, but leave you alone. No one will pestering you for you drink order every half hour. The breakfast was a departure from the usual grand buffets you find in Asia. There is a limited ala carte menu which restricts your in take to human proportions-- not a bad think after we overindulged at previous buffet breakfasts.

The ride into town-- pub street -- takes less than five minutes by $1 tuk tuk. We found the walk from deep in the soi interesting as you got of glimpse of real life in Siem Reap.

This is a really lovely hotel, very intimate and lovely. The suites are combined with the outdoors beautifully, and have outdoor showers, jacuzzis etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay here and recommend it for everyone looking for a relaxed, calming stay. Very aesthetically designed.
