Palm Village Resort & Spa

Me and four friends went to Palm Village and we abseloutely loved it. It's hidden in the middle of the jungle (quite scary to find with two tuk-tuks who got lost late at night when it was pitch black) and surrounded by beautiful trees and all kinds of frogs and animals that make sounds throughout the night.

The bungalows were basic but very nice (with a veranda and a TV). We slept like babies throughout the night

Breakfast was included and it was great!!! coffee, fresh juice, bread, fruits, eggs and many other things. You could eat it at the swimming pool and get service there. Excellent.

The hotel helped us in renting a mini-van and a guide for Angkor Wat, that was a service I would definately recommend!

The staff were really nice and helpful.

They also offered a spa (think it was from 15-30US for most of the treatments) where we went for a massage and face cleansing amongst other things- it was the best spa I've been to! We were five and all went to different treatments and we were all extremely happy.

Definately recommend this hotel!

Fading compound though with lovely staff, a clean and accessible pool and dark but clean basicrooms, flooded paths in the rain, tatty doormats, poor flushing loo and very basic amenities BUT, as a base for Angkor Wat , in a quiet 'lane' with a fascinating tuk tuk ride through real villages to the ruins. Dreadful 'tourist' background music. Lots of bookings BUT needs a little reinvestment and refurbishment if it is to continue to justify it's good tripadvisor rating!

This hotel was a fair way from the centre of Siem Riep but I thought this was a good thing as it was very quiet and peaceful. Each room is a seperate bungalow which is spacious and well appointed with lots of lovely gardens surrounding. The pool is also great and well needed after temple viewing. They have a restaurant at the hotel which is quite good, which is lucky as there is not much else around. It is a three dollar tuk tuk ride to the centre of Siem Riep. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and are happy to answer any questions and arrange transport etc around the temples. Excellent hotel and highly recommended. If you plan on renting bikes, I suggest you get home before dark as the roads around the hotel are dirt with many potholes and no lighting at all.

We booked a room in advance one month before the stay. We confirmed our arrival the previous week and the day before, telling the hotel staff how we would arrive to Siam Reap and aprox at what time. When we were already there, at the bus station, there was nobody waiting for us, as we had arranged. They had decided to give our room to someone else just because they didn't know with which bus company we were coming. They thought we had been conviced by the bus company to stay at their guesthouse.
I found it really disappointing. When you are traveling sometimes you are not carrying a mobile phone with you all the time and perhaps you cannot so easily be contacted, and you might not have acces to the internet all the time. I think they didnt act seriously. It is not a good policy for a mid range-expensive Hotel to leave someone on the street with a one month reservation, just because they dont know on what bus station you are stopping. Specially at 2 pm, I dont think it was too late for arrival
Anyway. I hope this is usefull for other travellers. I understand that it is a risk for them to accept bookings via the internet, but if they do, they have to assume this risk!!!
REally disappointed

Quiet and calm, extremely friendly staff, good food, clean, but bathroom was a bit old, and the shower a bit weird but useable. Unfortunately a bit far off. If you look on the map it is between Siem Reap and the entrance to Angkor Wat, but since the street was flooded, we always had to go to Siem Reap first, which was a very bumpy ride. Therefore it took about 20-30 minutes to get to the Angkor Wat ticket office and even longer to the temples. However, we quit liked it, since it was very green, and quiet. Oh, by the way, the pictures on tripadvisor look more impressive than the original place.

I´ve just returned home after staying 4 days in cambodia and one more week in thailand.
A special place... with everything you need, away from the avenues full of resorts, very peaceful. It´s not in the middle of the city but the tuk-tuk ride gives you a good idea of the non turistic places in siem reap.
The room is great, with AC and a good bathroom. It´s not a 5 stars resort but i felt really good there. The pool is very nice.
The kmer food of the hotel is very good and the massage is incredible.
The staff is really helpful and very friendly.
Loved it.

I stayed at Palm village for 4 nights with some friends and my boyfriend. We travelled in Asia for 6 weeks, and I must say this was the best hotel that we stayed in.

I can't say enough positive things about the staff. They were soooo friendly and so helpful.

The rooms were fairly large, and clean.

The gardens are so beautiful.

This hotel is a little out of town, but it is a nice ride to see the village life on your way to the temples.

The hotels has already arranged prices with tuk tuk drivers for sight seeing. This is really nice because it saves you the hassle of doing it yourself.

I would definitly stay here again. We all loved the palm village.
