This hotel is just an average hotel in siem reap which caters to alot of tour groups and gets very busy during peak seasons. This is more than obvious by the jaded attitude of the staff, namely the ones at the front desk. Smiling seemed to be an effort or they just dont bother.
We needed help trying to get in touch with the tour agency who arranged our local airport transfer - the number was based in phnom penh and the voice recording was in the native language. We asked the front desk for help and they were very unhelpful. At first they refused to help us call and kept dismissing us by telling us to call ourselves from our room. When they finally and very reluctantly agree, they informed us that we will have to pay the charges because it is a long distance phonecall.
The whole incident was compounded by the front desk staff's unfriendly attitude, no smiles, lack of eye contact and they did not bother hiding how they felt we were wasting their time.
Another poor impression we had was our experience with their on-site spa - Gingko Spa.
On our last night, we decided to give it a try. My therapist was okay, but my friend's therapist was terrible. She kept trying to engage my therapist in conversation, and at one point, she had one hand massaging my friend, and the other hand holding her handphone to her ear conversing. I actually looked over and did a double-take at the unprofessional service.
