“Very Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2014

After staying at some very fine hotels during the Thailand portion of our trip, we arrived at the Riviera. Only good point is location near the Night Market and the most impressive part of the facility is the open courtyard adjacent to the pool. Staff were helpful. Arcane hotel policy required a 5USD fee for misplaced electronic plastic key.

Arrived and were offered a diluted tang-like beverage which also turned out to be served as the OJ for breakfast each morning. Hotel is a large group oriented hotel with stained walls and carpeting, small rooms, dated facilities and showing the wear of the the groups. Dining room has tilted shades that were in disrepair with no apparent effort to fix them.

The hotel looked as if opened in the 1950s as all members of the group agreed. Shocked to learn that it opened just 6 years ago. I could go on and on.

The hotel has a sign on the check in counter that it was Trip Advisor Choice in 2012 and that in 2012 it received an 8.8 from booking.com. That was then and this is now. Worth the $50-60 night for a 3 star place.

Room Tip: Much better choices in the vicinity of the Night Market.

Stayed for 4 nights in this hotel. The hotel room is clean and comfortable and is located at the main area where it is convenient to walk to the Pub Street. Staff service were so so and not consistent. Buffet breakfast has a lot of variety to choose from.

Tourist class 4 star hotel. Located within walking distance to Night Market and Pub Street. My friend got bitten by a kind of insect in the room while sleeping. Lodged a complaint to the hotel, the condition did not improve. Shower water temperature changed from warm to cold while in the showing. Overall, not a bad experience but do not expect more than that.

Not that great of a stay for 3 of our family members in 2 rooms. Not very comfortable accommodations as the room is quite small. They also get very large groups with junior high school kids so the lobby can be very noisy. The hotel staff were not very attentive and can be dismissive when you have an issue. Would not stay there again as Siem Reap has so many choices when it comes to hotels. I felt a bit let down by the reviews of this hotel when we chose to stay there.

We only stayed one night in this hotel but we appreciated a lot our stay there.

It all started with a wierd habit of the hotel to ask the customer to pay at arrival.. Usually, we are used to pay at check-out..

The room is perfect, comfortable. We appreciated a lot the breakfast full of everything (buffet).
The hotel is located in the main area of Siam Reap (not too far from Pub Street... a nice 5 minutes walk).

and the price is quite low for the quality of the hotel..

I checked into the hotel on 5 dec and were given room 307 together with my girlfriend and we went out for dinner. At night, we slept fast and I was woken up in the middle of the night by the bites. When we checked our bed to our horror, there were bugs found on the bed and comforter. I took pics of it and we asked for the room to be changed. We called the receptionist and he said there was no more room available. How am I supposed to sleep? I stomped down to the counter with the dead bug and asked for room to be changed. Immediately he got us another room 333. This room was slightly cleaner than our previous room. Though I was still bitten, I endured and checked out on 9 dec.

To be on the fair side, the breakfast has a wide spread and I did enjoy it. Staff were kind only the night staff were abit not friendly even though they know what my issue was.
