We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon trip. On arrival we were seated and given refreshing drinks and towels. The lobby smelt amazing and had fresh flowers and such a relaxing feel to it. We were shown to our room by a lovely young gentleman. I feel bad as I've forgotten his name but he was a new trainee, and he was still trying to improve his English. He was so polite and when showing us our room he was excited to point out the decoration on the bed for our 'hooneymoon' (The mis spelling gave us a giggle!) and he presented us with a cake and insisted on taking our photo.

The bedroom was really comfortable and a good size. The bathroom was nice and also a good size with a separate bath. You are provided with bottled water and there is a mini bar. There is a strange sort of balcony thing but you have to climb through the window to stand on it and it's only tiny anyway. The bed was really comfortable! We didn't use the air con too much as it was cool during the evenings when we were there. To be honest we only really spent time in our room to sleep as there is just so much to see in Siem Reap!

After our first day of temple exploring we bumped into the young trainee as we were getting into the lift. He was apologizing over and over and we were dreading what he was going to tell us! Turned out as part of our honeymoon the hotel were giving us a private candlelit meal and he'd forgotten to tell us this. This was unexpected and we had it on our last night. You can pay to do this meal and I highly recommend it! You have a table looking out over the pool and they put candles everywhere. We had 3 courses and it even included a bottle of wine, it was one of the most memorable evenings of our honeymoon. The waiters were so nice and polite too, he stood away around the corner so as not to intrude but would would glance round now and then to make sure we were OK.

I also spent a short time relaxing by the pool after getting back from the temples one afternoon and it was lovely and relaxing. The pool is cold but nice after being hot and stuffy all day! There are towels provided and drinks service if you need it.

I think breakfast was probably the weakest point, it wasn't terrible by any means but out of the 4 hotels we stayed in during our honeymoon it came bottom. However I did like that you could go and pour your own coffee instead of waiting to be served it.

It was our first time in SE Asia and we were a bit nervous about going and using the tuk-tuks but they are just so easy and nothing to be nervous about! The first evening the doorman went to get us a tuk-tuk and it's only $2 to Pub Street (you get the price before you go but its always $2). The next evening the doorman didn't offer to get us one but we went out the hotel and to the left and some tuk-tuk's hang out there together and as soon as they spot you they come running over. We never had any problems with them. Its extremely easy to get one back to the hotel as they're everywhere asking people if they need tuk-tuk! Pub Street wasn't as bad as I thought it would be either! We ate at the Cambodian BBQ the first evening which was fun. The second evening we went to Haven Training restaurant which I reserved a few weeks in advance. HIGHLY recommend it and reserve so you're not disappointed! Read about it on their website, amazing what they're doing.

I would love to come back in the future and would not hesitate to stay at Tara Angkor!

This hotel is of superb quality and i would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody who wishes to stay in Siem Reap. The location is ideal for the exploration of the temples at Angkor Wat and also not far in the tuk tuk to the centre of Siem Reap, which is an amazing place, lively whilst showing what a great place Cambodia is.The hotel has a marvellous pool and surroundings where you can dine outside or inside, breakfasts are plentiful and varied to each nationalities needs, the rooms are spacious and adequate for the purpose in which they are intended. All staff we found to be pleasant and helpful,a great 3 night stay on the 2nd leg of our tour, next stop Laos.

Siem Reap was the last stop on our three week trip through Vietnam and Cambodia. We were hoping that our last hotel would be a nice place to relax since we were faced with a very long airplane ride back. The Tara Angkor certainly did not disappoint.

It is located outside of the main downtown area and just over a 5 minute or $2 Tuk Tuk ride away. The hotel is large and offers a lot of amenitities. It has a huge lobby that included a gift shop and business center with 3 computers for guest use. The desk staff did make us sign out for a mouse at each use since it appears that previous guests decided they needed them more than the hotel.

Our room was large, clean and equipped with the typical amenities that we found common during our trip, large flat panel TV, fridge and mini bar, valuable's safe etc. A nice touch was a bowl of fruit in the room upon arrival, robes and slippers, and towels that weren't paper thin. Also, in the evening, housekeeping came around to offer clean towels and additional water for the guests. While this is minor, there was a clothes line in the bathroom to use for drying off bathing suits for guests that used the pool.

The buffet breakfast was vast and guests had the option of eating either inside in the dining room or outside. Pretty much everything was on the menu along with the option of having eggs cooked to order.

The pool area was nice but a little small. Nevertheless, we manged to squeeze in couple of afternoons after several hours each day of visiting temple ruins in over 100 F heat.

The desk staff was very friendly, but their English could have been a little better since they do cater to a western clientele. However, this was not really a problem.

I highly recommend this hotel regardless of where Siem Reap is on your itinerary.

An absolutely fabulous all round hotel. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Very clean and great food in the restaurant. The only downside is the pool area is too small for the amount of guests, but because we were out and about all the time, wasn't really an issue. The spa is fabulous and the restaurant also has a courtyard which was lovely for breakfast. Would totally recommend.
