We stayed there for 3 nights as a part of our 10th anniversary trip.
First of all, the best thing they did for us was a lovely surprise by setting up the bed and the bathtub with full of roses and gave us a congratulation yummy cake. It was not like a honeymoon, we did not expected this at all so it was very nice and made our holiday extra special. Now, that's a real good service. All staff was friendly and very good customer service.

The room was clean, nice and new which provided very comfortable stay with very good value for money. Bonus is the great buffet breakfast!

The only negative thing was the shower. I mean the bathroom is so well maintained, very clean and everything, but the water pressure was not great and the water temperature kept on changing.... Well, I guess after all it is nothing compare to how good the whole experience was at this hotel anyway.

Thanks so much Tara Angkor hotel for making our trip so special and if we go back to cambodia again, we will be staying at this hotel again.

The Tara is a lovely new hotel. Although it may be somewhat smaller than some of the more established 4 and 5 star hotels, it has great ammenties and very personal service. The rooms are in great shape and the people working there are friendly and helpful. When we arrived, they checked us in, gave us a welcome drink, and then sat down with us to arrange a private tour for us that was tailored to our needs. Their breakfast buffet is great and their other meals are very tasty as well. I'd definitely stay there again.

Really looking forward to staying here but felt disappointed as place definately not as good as described. The pool isn't that big, with just 12 sun loungers for 280 rooms.

Best to get deal in advance as rack rate is expensive.

My room on the 4th (top) floor had an annoying creeking sound coming from the ceiling which kept me up at night.

Breakfast excellent and generally staff are friendly. Had a bit of a disagreement on leaving as was told we had taken water from mini bar when hadn't; easier to pay that argue!

When stayed in town last time it was at Angkor Resort which was excellent and not too much more. Will stay theere next time.

First of all, I would like to thanks Ms Sathya ( Reservation ) and Ms Marot ( Guest Relation ) for the excellent service that they provide. Both of them really go beyond to help in every matters. The hotel's staffs are friendly, breakfast are good, clean, rooms are comfortable and spacious, located not downtown but more clean and quite. Just two of the Front Desk staff are not helpful while checking-out. Generally, staying in this hotel are enjoyable. Will definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for three nights during a longer journey throughout southeastern asia. This has definitely been one of the best places I stayed during that trip. I got a bargain price over the internet and it was completely worth it. The staff was friendly, the (included) breakfast was superb. They even got free transport to the airport. Also the pool was great, especially after a long day visiting the temples.
The only negative thing was that the wifi wasn't free in comparison to most other places in Vietnam and Cambodia and that it's a 10min ride to downtown Siem Reap.

We were very impressed with Tara Angkor. We had a deluxe room for 3 nights. Lovely big new room with a comfy bed. Great location close enough to the action but far enough away to be a bit quieter than lot of places. Wonderful pool, free internet and a fab breakfast included. At US $60 a night it was an absolute bargain. We highly recommend the Tara :)

HOTEL: We booked and stayed four nights at the Tara Angkor Hotel after booking a flight on Expedia with Bangkok Airways. The primary purpose of our trip was to visit Angkor Wat and Siem Reap which we thoroughly enjoyed. The Tara Angkor Hotel is rated as a top choice with Expedia, and included free transportation to and from the airport and a nice buffet breakfast daily. Upon arriving at Siem Reap Airport, we were not picked up by the Tara Angkor Hotel and had to get a $7 taxi. Although the cost was minimal, I found it a little irritating and brought it up to the front desk manager upon checking in. The excuse I was given was that I hadn't called the hotel to notify them of my time of arrival so transportation was not arranged. I pointed out that the hotel arrangements and special request for a king size bed were received, and since the hotel was booked as an add-on to booking a flight it should have been passed on to the hotel. The manager offered to pay for the taxi or deduct 15% from food and beverages, to which I thanked him and left it up to him. The manager later reported to me that he had contacted Expedia and found the error so future customers wouldn't be inconvenienced. We found the hotel room to be clean and comfortable. The food was good in the hotel and the pool although small was clean and adequately staffed. The hotel offers a buffet for breakfast and dinner which is open to several tour buses, which on a few occassions made getting a table a small challenge. There are many lodging options in Siem Reap to chose from that span from hostels to 5 star hotels. Although we enjoyed our stay, I would probably rate the Angkor Wat Hotel as a 3 star hotel by North American standards.
CAR and DRIVER: While arranging for our own transportation to the hotel we met our taxi driver Mr. Tep Sithol [--], who asked if we needed a car for hire and a guide. He offered a car/van for $30 a day and arranged for a guide at $25 a day. (The price to drive outside of the Angkor Wat area was $40 a day.) The van was clean and air conditioned, which was nice to have when it was raining or to get out of the heat. I point this out as readers should know that it is possible to get Tuk-Tuks (motorcycles with attached carts) for much cheaper than $30 a day. We let our driver go after we did our 8 hours of sight seeing, and would negotiate with a Tuk-Tuk driver to get around in the evenings for dinner and the night market in Siem Reap.
TOUR GUIDE: We attribute having a great vacation experience to our Angkor Wat English-speaking Guide Mr. Sokchea Liv. He was OUTSTANDING and can be contacted at [--]. He spoke excellent English and was punctual, and genuinely interested in making our visit a pleasurable one. After getting to know our needs, he planned an itinerary that included two full days of visiting the various temples, our third day included visiting a craft shops, silk production, a "Killing Field" in Siem Reap, and helped us arrange a two-hour massage at a reputable establishment. We also went to clean restraunts for lunch and overall had a fantastic experience. Mr. Sokchea (he goes by "Chea") is a nationally licensed tour guide and is available for English-speaking tours in Phnom Phen and Siem Reap. He has our strongest endorsement and we'd gladly recommend him to our friends if they were to visit Cambodia.
