I've visited the Tara Angkor previously, so when a few days were available before a business trip to Vietnam, I had no hesitation in going back. They offer good rooms, a free and fast wireless internet (as well as PCs), pleasant grounds, a useful pool and gym (including two treadmills, a stepper and some dumbbells), but best of all for me, the wonderful breakfast variety (both Western and Asian, veg & non-veg). Even small details like the welcome fruit and free daily bottles of water are a nice touch. Importantly, it's very well priced.

For those who've never been to Siem Reap, it's not all about 1 temple ... there are more than 20 different temple sites (note that some involve steep climbing, but most don't), and I'd argue that Angkor Wat isn't the best of them ... I prefer both Ta Prohm and Preah Khan (both non-climbing). While in Siem Reap, also take a day trip on the Tonle Sap (lake), visit the markets and try some Khmer food at a restaurant (especially the Amok) ... all are very reasonably priced in a small, safe town. I look forward to returning ...

Tim Blondeel's personal effort to right the initial misunderstanding and miscommunication with your cleaning staff during checking in is much appreciated by all. We come away impressed with his attitude and patience to service. Well done and we wish him every success. We certainly will recommend your Hotel to our friends and will certainly stay with Tara Angkor for a more leisurely visit.

Cheers.

We enjoyed our stay at the Tara Angkor. The hotel is quite lovely for the price. The staff are friendly and will give you great tips on Siem Reap if you make the effort to talk with them (we got a great 'locals only' restaurant recommendation from them - ask about 'Grilled Beef'). Most of them speak passable English. The hotel will also arrange everything for you if you're there to see the temples. A tuk tuk for the day is $15 and a guide is $30.

If you want to stay right in town, near 'Pub Street' you should probably stay somewhere else. The Tara Angkor is about a 15 minute walk away, which can seem like a ways when it's hot. The hotel offers free bikes to borrow, but they are not in great condition.

The rooms are small, but nice and clean. We did have a bit of an issue with variable temperature in the shower, however.

Our breakfast was included and we were pleased with the selection of the food. Both Asian and Western diets are well represented.

The pool is a welcome respite from the heat, but the area is a little small and it can be difficult to get a lounge chair.

For the price, though, we were happy with Tara Angkor. It's a comfortable, clean hotel not far from the temples with a friendly staff.

After camping out on the beach in Thailand I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in such a wonderful hotel. The staff was very helpful and was readily available to help me make other arrangements when my sightseeing plans hit a snag. The patio restuarant was also a great place to unwind after a long day at Angkor Wat. The gift shop downstairs was also a great place to pick up a few last minute gifts before heading home. Tara Angkor exceeded my expectations and if I am ever in that part of the world again I will be staying here.
