“Good value”
Reviewed 15 December 2008

A refurbished small, family run hotel, about 10 minutes walk from town centre where there is much dining to suit every pocket.
The room was clean and comfortable but basic. The bathroom was tiny but came complete with good shower, WC and hand basin.
The breakfast was unimaginative and the dining area was simple but breakfast was certainly nothing to complain about.
There is no garden and parking is at the front of the hotel but we had no worries about security.

We were particularly impressed by the consideration given when we lost our room/hotel keys. There was no fuss and no charge!!

Overall, this is a friendly, effiicient and good value hotel. Recommended.

This was the only hotel I did not book myself for our trip. It was booked through a local travel agent who was arranging my huts/bus/boat for the W trek.

The place was fairly cheap but otherwise I was a little disappointed for the following reasons:

Location is fairly far from town. Of course "far" is relative as the entire town is not very big, but still it would have been nice to stay nearer the action. Also, the feeling in the neighborhood was slightly more ghetto than other parts of town which we noticed particularly upon walking back at night.

Our room was downstairs and as we were going to bed, people upstairs must have checked in late and unfortunately the ceiling was thin and we could hear them walking around, turning on water, until they finally went to bed. It was all I could do to stop my boyfriend from banging on the ceiling to get them to stop.

I could not decide if the place was cozy or a bit of a dump. And my standards are not particularly high. It wasn't dirty, there were no bugs, it just wasn't that appealing.

They did have one computer which was nice to be able to check email before setting off on the W.

Breakfast must have been average as I have no memory.

Stayed December 2007

we were very happy with this hotel.
we booked it 2 days before arrival and it was the only available place to stay (according to the reservation-site), so expectations were low., but when we arrived, we discovered a very nice hotel, a decent room (Tv, phone and shower) and a good breakfest.
the hotel is far from the town-center (8 blocks) and the port-area (13 blocks) but it is a small town so it is not very far relativly.
we would reccomend this hotel to anyone who seeks good place for a medium price, and does not mind walking a little bit.

Hello, this was a good hostal. Friendly staff. Nice free breakfast in the morning. Rooms are really small - but they are clean and are the sheets are comforters are nicer and in better shape than other hostals. We paid about $45USD for one night in December.
There is a lot of noise in the morning though - but overall it was manageable. This hostal is about 7 blocks from the city center.
