I stay here for a few nights each month and there is absolutely nothing 'wow' or even memorable about the place - except - you must remember it is right in the middle of a factory area. That is pretty much all you will find in the vicinity and I doubt it will ever appear on a tourists list of places to visit and stay.
Dong Guan is what it is - an industrial area. Therefore to find a half decent hotel is something to appreciate (there are some fancy big name hotels in the 'Dong Guan area' but we are talking at least a 30 minute drive from here to Hyatt, Sheraton etc.
CHECK IN/OUT is usually a time consuming drama involving at least 3 staff members and a lot of dithering as if you are the very first guest they ever had.
ROOMS are actually pretty good with all you really need. Always seem clean and well maintained. Some mini bars are well stocked - some are empty (never had the will power to get into that conversation with reception).
WATCH OUT - odd numbered rooms are road side which is extremely noisy with constant lorries passing. Even numbered overlook the car park or pool.
POOL - this is one of the best things here. It is huge, nice temperature as and long as you don't look too closely at the surface pleasant to swim in (avoid consumption !!).
BREAKFAST - this has been noticeably upgraded recently with table cloths, glasses for juice (previously paper cups ) and decent coffee. Food selection a bit limited but toast is ok. I am always put off the cereals by the grey milk.
PRICE - well worth US$50 per night.
