This Hotel is based in a small bay and offers a nice beach. The rooms are good and the restaurant offers delicious food. The outside pool is nice and has a pretty view to the ocean. I have been there in the middle of the week and it was very empty. Maybe if it is full the space is very limited. You should also take a trip by boat to the island you see from the beach. Not so nice is the view to the nuclear plant around the corner. It is a good place to stay when you are on business in this area and have a car. It is not so interesting to go there for holidays or stay a longer time because the surrounding offers not really very much.

My first visit to this hotel resort by the beach was a pleasant experience. The occupancy was low due to low season and a weekday stay. Hardly any othe hotel guest was spotted. I and my boyfriend took advantage of the five private hot tubs and tried everyone of them. We tried the Chinese restaurant as well as the western restaurant called InAzia. At the Chinese I enjoyed 25% off all items except seafood and beverages. Next day we had lunch by the pond at InAzia and fed the koi fish with bread. Food was so so but the ambience and service were excellent. Room was spacious (35 sqm.) with tiled flooring which I prefer over carpet. Bathroom was very spacious. The only drawback was the air conditioning which lacked heating in a rather chilly night. Overall the stay was very pleasant.

I was expecting Sheraton Resort Jinhaiwan has the same standard with other Sheraton resort in other part of China like Chiangbaishan one. However, I believed it cannot qualified as a kind of resort by international standard after paying a visit. Restaurants (both Chinese and Western cusine) are acceptable, food are normal but quite expensive. But staff are extremely friendly. I would say it is the only choice within the region.

i was impressed when i checked in w/ the FO staff. They were friendly and offer my family (3 rooms booked) a comp upgrade from Deluxe Mountian View into Harbour view rooms. i am a SPG member hence we stayed at the SPG floor, which was very nice and feel different. Room was spacious and had a lovely view overlooking a 180 degree see view. They have also sent us a complimentary birthday cake for my daddy's birthday which is very sweet.
Location is ok for my family since we drove there, but inconvenient because there were no 7-eleven nearby, only a few seafood / farm restaurant within 5 mins driving distance.
The hotel was very quiet the day i stayed (Easter holiday in HK), and only 1 outlet was open.
The worst i have experience was all the outdoor pools (5 of them) were closed, and i was not informed prior check in nor memo in the room. Only 1 in-door pool was opened during my stay. Another bad experience is that when i checked out the FO personnel intented to charge me an additional of 15% service charge / tax on top of my confirmed room rate which was agreed when i booked at sheraton.com website. We agured for more than 30 mins and finally the senior staff at FO disbute the additional charge and we paid for what was confirmed.
I suggested the trip advisor member NOT to book the room through sheraton.com coz their rate may change and may charge you additional price even you have the official printed confirmation on hand.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us during vacation with your family. And also thank you very much for sharing your stay experience with all of us.

We are really happy that you and your family feel comfort and satisfied about our room facilities and complimentary birthday cake. It is such an honor to us.

Regarding the operation problem of outdoor pools, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by that and it is indeed showed we do not pay attention to details. We are appreciated on your comments. And the same time we are starting a better training to help our staff enhance service awareness.

Regarding the problem during check out, it really a live lesson to teach us need to listen first, then understanding, finally provide the appropriate resolution to our customers. We will conduct more training and more testing on daily rate accuracy in order to avoid making the same mistake again.

Thank you once again for your kindly comments and we truly value your patronage. We shall be pleased to meet you and your family on a future.

The Beach Resort is in a new area, so there is not much around the hotel. There are 3 pools outside, 1 pool inside in the health club and also a private beach. We were in room 1323 and had mountain few and a bit sea view. The room was very comfortable and had a big bathroom, king size bed and a small flat screen TV with lots of English and international channels. There is free internet in the business centre and paid internet in the room for a normal price for 24 hours. The hotel has a buffet restaurant, a Chinese restaurant and a coffee shop/bar which has more or less the same food as the room service restaurant. We had a very nice stay here but can not give more then 6 out of 10 points, because of the enormous language problems we had everywhere in the hotel. Staff are very friendly and do there best to help but after a few days we had enough to hear there standard answer in all restaurants, room service, spa etc. of: Just wait a moment please! This hotel is not good to stay in for a longer time like a week or two. Also the hotel charges a lot of money for everything. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to the boulevard were you can find a little supermarket and some very local restaurants. The front desk told us that shuttle bus ride takes about 5 minutes and cost RMB 200 (which is US$30.00) The hotel tent to aim there business to the Chinese market.

The hotel can provide airport pick-up for RMB1650 (net). Although the hotel told us it was a 2 hours drive to the hotel it took us 4 hours because of traffic. We took a green airport taxi from Shenzhen airport to the hotel which was very easy. We had the route and address of the hotel (Sheraton website) printed out in Chinese. The taxi was 500 Yuan, inclusive of toll roads. At check-inn they gave me one room key and one welcome drink coupon of 30 Yuan only, but the reservation was made for 2 people. I asked a second key and another welcome drink for my partner but they only gave me a second key. We had to share to welcome drink. This certainly did NOT make me feel welcome! Later we discovered that there were no drinks available of 30 Yuan in the bar. Everything was more expensive so we did not use it. The resort is 2 years old and there is nothing much around the hotel. We decide to eat at the pool bar/restaurant. When we asked the price we were given 3 different prices by 3 different people. The first price was 300 Yuan (US $45, 00 net) per person. The second person told us it was 230 Yuan. We thanked them and walked away but were followed and asked how much we were prepared to pay. RMB 188 net per person was agreed. We wondered how much the local Chinese paid and thought this was very strange for a 5 star Sheraton property. During the first 2 days we didn’t see any guests so we had the 3 pools all for ourselves. No one asked us if we wanted a drink so we used the water bottles provided in the room. The beach is okay but the sea is not very clear. Being bored and no one to look at beside ourselves we rented 2 bikes for RMB 130 (Yuan) per hour. For this price (nearly US$10.00 (net) per bike per hour) we expected good bikes. It took the staff who were very friendly about 40 minutes to get the bikes ready. We asked for a local map just in case we got lost and were given the map of Hong Kong and the South of China. A bit to far for an hour trip and had a laugh. We politely refused the small map. Ones on our bikes the brakes of my partners’ bike did not work at all so we went back and got another bike which broke down before we even left the hotel. We walked back and asked our money back and complaint to a hotel manager (lovely lady) who helped us with translation and offered us a free hour ones the bikes were fixed and safe to use. She also helped me with translation in the hotel Spa. That evening we went for some Haka (local) Chinese food and were greeted by the hotel Manager who escorted us to the table. We were told about the specials of the day in English. An other lady who took our orders could not speak English and did not know about the day specials and her prices were also different. We had another look in the menu and ordered the BBQ pig belly but that was not available anymore. Because of the language problem we thought is was best to leave the restaurant and go to the buffet restaurant which was very good the other day, but ones there we were very disappointed to see that it was exactly the same buffet as yesterday. We had room service food for two with a bottle of wine and watched HBO. The breakfast was great with an over load of choices that made us very happy. It was very nice to see that the General Manager as well as the Executive Managers were all working hard helping out during breakfast. They came by to ask if everything was fine and if we needed anything else. This was very much appreciated! The hotel is lovely but has a big problem serving foreign guests as staff do not speak any English. I have travelled in China quite a lot for years in all sorts of hotels but have never had language problems like this ever before in a 5 star hotel. This is the main reason I can not give this hotel more then 6 point out of 10. (I never give 10 out of 10 as there would be absolutely nothing to improve which is impossible. Without the language problems I would have given this hotel 8 out of 10.)
