Reviewed 2 February 2014

The Green Oasis Hotel is an excellent option if you would like don't spend a lot of money and keep your comfort. The rooms is big and quiet with good beds and hug bathroom. The shower has a many options like rain drop.
Looks like a hotel (2 or 3 starts), but with hostel's price.
It´s a 5/7 min by walk to the metro station, but its little far from the center.

Positive points:
super Clean
Big and comfortable rooms
huge and great bathroom
wifi inside the rooms
Hot water 24h
excelent price

Negative Point:
A bit far from center (but close to metro station..5/7min by walk)
The breakfast is not incluided
The staff doesn`t speak good english (one of them can´t speak nothing)

If you believe you get what you pay then you'll be pleased with this hotel. However, if you are expecting luxury, this hotel is not the one.
Positives: you get what you pay for. Clean hotel, free wi-fi, 24hr reception, not far from the subway station. Staff is always polite and helpful.
Negatives: they don't really speak English but always willing to use the google translator. The hotel is nearly 1hr away from the Luo Hu central part of Shenzhen.

I heard complaints that there is a lot of nightlife in the area but I can't say that's how I saw it. There are a couple of parks nearby where you can go for a stroll in the morning.

My only "strange" experience was I noticed a bar or some type of restaurant inside the hotel and when I wanted to enter it a Chinese lady quickly came to me apologising this is "only for Koreans, sorry." What??? Then I realised there were quite a lof of girls dressed in skimpy clothes in that bar/restaurant and noticed even more when I went downstairs to go out of the hotel for a walk. But other than that nothing else annoying or strange happened.

The only reason I would not stay here again is only because it's a bit far from Luo Hu, but then again this is the only reason against it.

Ok, SO..... I rung up at 2.30pm to book a room for the same night, when we arrived my room was not booked and no one could speak english but I can speak cantonese but the 2 receptionist couldn't... So it was pretty pointless when they were replying to me in Mandarin... Luckily a guy who could speak cantonese helped us. We stayed for 2 nights, rooms are spacious and clean bathroom/ shower.
We could also hear people walking up and down the hallway and really loud live music which sounds like it was coming from the floor below us....
(we were on the 4th floor.)

We read reviews on here saying the area was dodgy, I thought people were over exaggerating because we thought the location was alright, close to shops etc...
BUT during the second day when we left to grab some lunch at around 2pm there was a guy literally out on the doorstep of the hotel BEATING ONE OFF. Yes, you read it. He was beating one off, full on penis out in broad daylight and no one did anything, no police, no one from the hotel. I was too mortified to turn back to complain because I didn't even want to see that again or even from the corner of my eye, he was literally on the doorstep to the hotel.
I've seen it all now.

It's a nice hotel but would NEVER come back again.

The rooms could be cleaner and if you are non-smoker ask for a non-smoking room, if not you smell the smoke. The stuff is friendly and knows some english. Close by lots of small shops and restaurants. Far away from many other central places in Shenzhen.

Finding a triple room within our budget in this city was not easy and fortunately we found Green Oasis Hotel (GOH). It not hard to get to the hotel if you can ask around for direction in Mandarin.

From the airport, one can get to the hotel by bus. Take bus route 371 (formally 355) or Line 2 (formally 327) at the Shenzhen Airport's domestic terminal and alight at Baoan Transportation Hub Stop (宝安交通运输局站). Unfortunately, buses only announced the stops in Mandarin, an inconvenience for non-Mandarin speakers. To go to the hotel, cross the pedestrian bridge at the left of the bus stop. Take the left side of the downward staircase, walk straight until you reach a junction and turn right. You should be able to see the hotel's sign if you lift your head up. Walk down the street until you reach another junction. The hotel's entrance is at the right turn at the junction, with a convenience store next to it. The whole walk should take less than 5 minutes.

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, but we were conversing in Mandarin with them, so we were not sure of their English proficiency. The hotel requires RMB100 deposit upon checking it, which is refundable during checkout. The room was not big, just nice for 3 person, and most importantly, it was clean with no funny smell. Electrical power in the room remained even when you take out the key card (as indicated on the signage near the plug point), so its good if you want to leave your electrical gadget for charging in the room. It may not be a wise move security-wise but we did not experience any unpleasant incident of that sort while staying at the hotel. Housekeeping staffs were friendly and helpful too - a lady promptly handed us our 3rd towel upon seeing the 3 of us going into our room. Hair dryer was available at the hallway instead of in the room and shower cap was not provided. Housekeeping staff also mopped the room floor clean up.

Subway station (Lingzhi Station of Shenzhen Metro) is about 20 minutes walk away. Go straight at the T-junction in front of the hotel until you reach a cross road. Turn left and cross to the opposite side. Walk again until you reach another cross road with a traffic light, you should be pasing a big book store on your right on the way. Turn left and walk straight. The station is right ahead.

There was a grill stall that opened for supper just in front of the convenient store beside the hotel, we love the food there!!! They had a variety of vegetables, seafood to choose from, not to mention chicken, pork and offal too. The grilled food are served with hot and numbing pepper and spices - be sure not to miss this if you are hot and spicy food lover like us!! One of the specialty dish was steam fish with garlic and spring onion.

Travel in Shenzhen (and with other cities in China) are much more convenient with buses. We went to Splendid China and Window of the World by bus as there were several buses that are able to reach there compared to the need to walk to the Subway. An this is good with those who read, speak and understand Mandarin.

We are happy with our stay here and we would be coming back again, for the cleanliness, convenience of bus system and the grill food stall.

We stayed in Green Oasis Hotel (GDH Inn) in 3 bed family room for 4 nights, and I must admit, this hotel is worth every penny you spend to stay in it,

First about location,... Location wise this Hotel is very good, it’s situated in relatively calm area and the nearest Metro Station (Ling Zhi) is about 20 mins. walking distance, there is lot of local food joints around, so dining is never gonna be a problem if you are ok with Chinese Food, plus lots of different convenience stores like 7-11 are nearby, from there you can buy daily needed things like Water, Coldrinks, Snacks, Bread etc. Another thing I liked most about this Hotels location is there is very nice park next to this hotel which is great for morning jogging if you are fitness conscious or short relaxation night walk after dinner.

The Hotel is very well maintained, the rooms are specious with comfortable beds and have all modern amnesties like powerful Aircon, LCD TV (without any English channel), Safe box, electronic kettle etc., Free Internet is another plus point, bathroom is small standing shower type but very neat & clean. The front deck staff is very helpful although communication is big problem because only one girl among all of them knows English, her name is ‘Vicky’, she is great girl, very helpful, friendly & polite (Please say my hello to her if you are going to stay in this hotel after reading my review :) :) ) .

Conclusion : This is great hotel highly recommended for budget travellers like us and as I mentioned earlier it’s worth every penny you spend to stay in it.

The hotel is as good as it can get for what you pay for it. I stayed here once because I thought it was a convenient area for what I had to do - it really wasn't, but I still decided to come back, since I didn't want to risk it. The rooms are big enough to fit comfortably two people, bathroom also has a normal size, and you get the average set of slippers-toothbrush that you would expect from a hotel of a medium category. Except that the prices for a double room in this hotel are much more hostel-like, so you get way more than you would be prepared for with that budget! Only thing: they should get single rooms as well, so that I could stop paying for two people when I travel by myself. For the rest, everything is good. Staff normally just speaks chinese, but there's someone around who speaks english, and they are all very kind and helpful.
