The hotel is located in a central area, easily accessible by the subway. Check-in was fairly fast, but non-chinese speakers will have a hard time communicating with the staff as they speak minimal english. First-time visitors will get an upgrade from a 'superior room' to a 'deluxe room' on a higher floor, if you join their membership program. Frankly, I'm not sure the room was any better, the carpet was wet, and bathroom was mouldy and omitted a foul smell. Bed was too hard, and the in-room movies (watched two) tend to skip to the beginning of the movie, before sporadically jumping back to the end again. Breakfast was an extra RMB70 per person, and didn't have a big selection. The main gripe I have about this hotel is the number of dodgy people going in and out of the hotel, and the massage centre on the 35th floor. Went for 2 massages on different nights. The massage provided was mediocre, and the girls were dressed in very skimpy outfits. If you do not like leaving big tips,or be made to feel like you're in a hooker joint, then I suggest not visiting as they are not very gracious if you leave a RMB20 tip for a RMB70 foot massage, or choose not to have a full body massage. All in all a very uncomfortable stay, and definitely will not recommend to anyone.

Stayed here for a two-week business trip and the hotel is really nice, rooms are a bit small but modern and well furnished, it is also close to Huaqiangbei and many electronic shops. Breakfast was good at the hotel but it needs more veterinarian and non oily variety. Staff were friendly and tried to assist me at the best possible ways

This is a nice western-style hotel, with well-furnished and comfortable rooms, free wifi, wide selection of TV channels (including western satellite ones) and all the amenities you'd expect in a good hotel. They accept major credit cards.
The internal restaurant has a nice selection of Chinese and western dishes, both chinese and western (continental) buffet breakfast are available and of good quality. Or you can walk 5 minutes to find a very wide selection of western-style restaurants, most famous fast-food chains, and very good Chinese restaurants (the whole range from simplest to nicest) and Starbucks.
The only caveat is that in winter there's no heating (usually not necessary), so you may have to ask for an electrical heater if it becomes too cold for you...
The location is probably one of the best things about this hotel, it's located on the corner of the famous Huaqiangbei road, where you can do all the electronics shopping you can imagine - from raw electronic components to Apple products. In the same road and in those around you can find from small shops to (relatively high-end) multi-store shopping malls.
Also, it's a few meters away from the metro station, not to mention the many bus lines that stop in Huaqiangbei road, and of course plenty of cheap taxi.
Beware: there's another Grand Skylight hotel a few hundred meters away (farther from Huaqiangbei, so I never tried that one).

Room Tip: High floors have less traffic noise (not a problem anyway)

This second time I stayed in a hotel that belonged to the Skylight Hotel chain and I was happy for choosing it again. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast is good, offering western and Chinese food. Another positive point is the staff, very friendly. The location is very convenient as you are close to the business area, 3 minute walk from the Metro station and also very close to a Pizza Hut restaurant, which is a great help for westerns, after few days eating Chinese food, which I like by the way, but it always good to eat something that reminds you home.

I have stayed several times at this hotel when the Shenzhen Exhibit Center has an interesting show.
The location is very good, close to walking shopping, restaurants, shopping centers and entertainment, although most of the time after walking 7-8 hours in a show, I'm just ready to hit the showe and go to bed.
2 restaurants are available, one continental, also for breakfast and one chinese with traditional, tasty food.
Business center is very accomodating, WIFI in the rooms.
The cleaning crew is very serious about cleanliness. Room service is impeccable and fast.
Will be back aagin this October.

Room Tip: Choose a higher room for better service. Lifts and air-conditioners are super quiet.

The factory that we were to inspect next week booked us into a industria area 2* hotel which I refused to stay in so we transferred to this hotel at short notice at least for the weekend. It was bit tough to get rooms but finally really nice room on the 23rd floor for RMB828/night which included breakfast and executive club lounge. It's in a downtown area where there are a lots of shops, plazas, etc so I prefer this than to be stuck out by a factory in the middle of nowhere!!

Free wif and nice hotel staff so recommended

Room Tip: Higher the better view
