I was stuck unexpectenty in Shenzen having missed our train and needed to find accomodation. Right across from the station the Shangri-la looks bright and beckons you to it. But unless you have a very solid gold card, it is not very fesable for a one night crash.
But just behind it is the Prince Inn. This hotel seems to once have been quite a grand place. All the faded gold guilt abounds and the high ceilings once were very opulant. But it has been left to fade and the carpets to fray. But for the price is is a very good bet. The rooms are large with views and the bathroom clean with all the normal bits and bobs like a comb etc stocks (and condoms which I am sure they would charge for if used). At the end of the day close to the station and 25% the cost of the Shangri-la just in front.
The other good point is that they have a travel agency in the lobby. They booked me air tickets much cheaper than an agent in the station.

Shangrila Hotel is the best choice to be next to Luohu, but Prince Inn is the budget choice because it is less than 1/4 of the price you pay for a room at Shangrila.

Have a coffee and bun at the lobby lounge for Rmb65 instead.

We stayed at Prince Inn for one night, as a stopover before heading off to Guangzhou. I picked the hotel knowing that it's a hop to Luohu. Other choices were Best Western which is a taxi ride away. It is just that taxis are difficult to find near Luohu and the queue at the train station is unusually long.

Service: Non existent. A small check in counter on the ground floor which looks like a wasted office lobby. Bombed out.

Value: Good value as it is clean, comfortable and close to Luohu.

Sleep Quality: Good, quiet surrounding and high floor because we had a 33rd floor room where you can see HK across the river.

Cleanliness: Parquet wooden floor was clean, so was the bathroom.

Rooms: Large, bright with a large window, clean.

Restaurant: No restaurant.

Swimming Pool: Don't think that there is one.

Room Tip: Get a high floor, don't believe the hustlers at the entrance offering you a room for RMB 150, i...

The description of the hotel at the various website are too good to be true.

The reception charges around RMB250 per night for walk-in customers which sounds reasonable if you compared with the rest of the smaller hotel around that area. But take note that there is no in house facility at all. The rooms are big, 30m2 or more, but poorly maintained. The housekeeping is minimum, they just come in change the bedsheet and mop the floor.

Besides being near Lohu MTR and for going to Hong Kong, there is nothing to go for at this hotel. Good for non Chinese speaking travellers who are not sure of the way and needs to stay there to get to Hong Kong.

PS - if you go to any of the touts outside the hotel entrance, you can get a room in the same building on 15 or 16 storey for RMB150 per night.

I came to Shenzen by MTR from Hongkong ( Louho station ). The location of this hotel near of this station, beside shangrilla hotel. This is good for me because near window of world and splendid of china as my destination.

From the window, we can see the view of louho station and little bit of shenzen. KFC and McDonald are really closed with my hotel. So don't worry if you hungry in the midnight.

The price of prince inn hotel not really expensive. But the receptionist can not speak english. And as my experience, the guide in the outside of hotel help us to translate my english. For tips, I gave CNY 10 to this guide.

The room is big and clean. But I don't comfortable with bathroom since the everyone in the outside of this room can see all activities in the bathroom. So, we turn off the lamp when going to the bathroom. But overall this room is good for short time.

I booked this hotel through a chinese website and was given 2 breakfast in the contracted rate. On arrival at the hotel I was told "no breakfast". They were good enough to talk to the travel booking company and subsequently i was informed that the booking company had made a mistake. They did not realise that the Hotel does not have a restaurant at all.

I had booked the Honeymoon Suite....it is really huge... about 700 sq. mtrs...huge.. I had come in from Hongkong - so it seemed like a football ground. The location is very good... just get out of Shenzhen Railway Station and look up.. just behind Shangrila.. you can see the name..

The television channel were all chinese.. nothing english....so if you plan to stay here plan to spend all your timeout.. and come back to sleep only...

The only plus point was the location....and huge room sizes....otherwise an average hotel,, and the worst part.. everytime you go in or out you are accosted by touts offering you anything or everything...

Room Tip: Choose the Honey moon Rooms.. they are big and they are on a high floor..I stayed on 33rd floor in a...

We were visiting a friend in Hong Kong and decided to have a couple of days in China. We chose this hotel as it was convenient for the train station and where we wanted to go. Upon reaching the hotel it didnt look to bad from the outside, but a whole different story inside. The first thing that greeted you when you walked up to the desk was the strong smell of cigarette smoke, very stale and horrible. There were fag ends on the floor by the check in desk. The lifts all smelt of it as did all the floors in the hotel. Despite asking for a non smoking room,it was very clear this was not the case. The room itself is NOTHING like the pictures you see. There is no where to hang your clothes only a couple of hangers on a metal rack screwed to the wall. The walls were damp with patches all over them where someone had clearly tried to cover it up. The smell of damp was incredible and worse in our friends room. The bathroom was disgusting, all round the grouting including the shower was black with damp, the whole room was a health hazzard. We complained with little effect, they really didnt care,we managed to get the deposit back, although they offered us an upgrade we wanted out as soon as possible. The room we had was already described as a delux room so heaven only knows what the others were like. I couldnt even begin to rate this hotel, all i can advise is to avoid it like the plague. We actually ended up going in the hotel next door for something to eat before heading back to Hong Kong.

Stay for one night, a special offer by Inn for walkin guest that came after 12mid night. (Depend on availablity) Reception not friendly and service are average, the security behalf like a gangster and when i try to board the lift in the morning, shouted at me the purpose of my visit. Plus saw the security was shouting and fighting with somebody at the lobby following day.
Room was ok but not clean.
Overall average during my stay, but i like the location because it is near to LuoHu train station.
Food at nearby was bad, never find any good food at night.
