Ok, but it's comparatively a bit expensive among the hotel surrounding.
Rooms are ok
This review is very annoying which needs the guest to write about 200 words, the hotel is ok but the review sucks. If you don't have 200 words, it keeps you writing

I faced an issue upon arrival in this hotel (probably due to a misunderstanding, staff do not all speak good English) but the Manager and staff were very willing to offer compensation and assistance.
Generally speaking, finally a good stay, but double check your requirement before arrival ...

Typical clean and well maintained Novotel standard in terms of rooms.

Stayed in both Superior and Suite. All suites are right at the end of corridor, next to the service lift where you can just about faintly hear the staff getting moving about in the early hours.

The only difference is an extra attached liing hall, with not much more in terms of extra ammenities (I would expect a bigger bathroom and an espresso machine).

The staffs, while polite, would not go the extra mile, and not familiar with Accor Gold cards privileges. Have to show them their group's policies on my tablets their own company's sites. Then they would give lame excuses on the not giving the right rooms or information.

Nice hotel with very helpful staff at the reception. Rooms are convenient and comfortable. Walkable distance to the market and ideal for shopping. You will need to use all your bargaining skiils if you plan shopping as the initial price and the final price are end apart. The enterence to the hotel is tucked away in a big complex and initially we had difficulty in reaching it. Indian restaurents are close by and an added advantage.

From the other reviews you would think this hotel is so hard to find and does not have anyone that speaks English. The hotel location is easy to find but you do have to drive around to the back. It shares the parking area with an office building and was a little frustrating with paying for parking which is not really the hotel's fault. The front desk manager and restaurant manger both speak very good English. Of course the housekeeping staff will not know English, so you will have to play charades and figure out if they are there to clean the room, get laundry, or refresh the mini bar but that's our fault for not knowing their language! The free mini bar is pretty cool and something I have never seen before. You get 1 Sprite, 1 coke, 1 orange juice, and 1 beer. Each day they refill it although I got skipped one day and another day they didn't do it until late in the afternoon. The food quality at the buffet was very good and plenty of Western options despite what other reviews have said. Seafood, steak, sushi, soups, salad, desserts, etc. all very good quality and great selection even for breakfast. The Wifi was down the first 3 days we stayed so they gave us a router and for one afternoon, nothing worked, then it worked fine again. The "covered pool" and "workout area" were very disappointing. The pool is actually outside on the 8th floor but is covered but is closed during non summer months. The workout room has a treadmill, an elliptical, and 2 bikes, that's it. The rooms were surprisingly quiet as long as you do not have an adjourning room with a door. I did not have a door and even though my room was on the street side, I barely heard anything. One quirky thing is that they have their smoke detectors directly above the bed and according to them, they must blink a red light every so often which in a completely dark room lights up the room when you are trying to sleep. So bring a blindfold. The room itself is very nice and contemporary and pretty roomy for a city hotel in China. Great built in flat screen TV with all sorts of inputs to watch any movies. We walked across the street via the metro station to an amazing park with a lake and tropical trees, waterfalls, and rock formations and walkways. A real gem in downtown Shenzhen. Also only 5 minutes to the border and Lo Wu the shopping mecca. Overall a great hotel at a great value for what we paid but a few quirky things that are pretty typical of overseas travel.

Got upgraded to suite room.
The room and stay is ok, the problem is the bathroom leaks to the room.
As always in China, English is quite a feat, so its time to beef up your Chinese language.
Metro is 1 block away, shopping center also, so food and getting around wont be a problem
