First time in Shenzhen so you expect a lot from the hotel you'll be staying in. This hotel has the perfect location. Near a beautiful tourist attraction like The Splendid China, right at the heart of shops and restaurants and very near the subway station. The lobby is a typical but well maintained traditional chinese hotel but a lot about this hotel is modern. The breakfast food has so much variety and you would wish they can create more room since it was always packed during our stay. The room is impressive since it has everything you would be needing and more. One most important thing i expect from a good hotel is its bed and pillows. This one has the most comfortable beddings and too bad i didn't get to sleep much since i always had a full schedule in my five-day trip. This hotel made me love Shenzhen more.

We were booked into this hotel by friends who live in Shenzhen and liked it just fine. The room was not huge and there was not much of a view, but it was clean, quiet and comfortable. The area was very interesting--curvy streets and lots of trees in a way that makes it almost feel suburban, but one of the other exits of the metro (half a block away) was the Walmart and in fact we were close to the heart of the city.

The area--OTC (means Overseas Chinese Town, where HongKongers and others settled when Shenzhen first became a special industiral zone) has a theme park with a tram around it and other things for internal Chinese tourists as well as other kinds of restaurants.. The metro was clean and easy (and I say this as a person who walks slowly, with a crutch, who doesn't like it at all when subway escalators are not working). I would recommend the hotel and certainly the area if someone wants a higher end hotel.

Room Tip: the old building is where the lobby and dining room are--the new building is about a city block away

Stayed in the hotel three times in the past two months. The location of the hotel was excellent -- close to tourist attractions, metro station is right by the entrance, plenty of restaurants around, and a major shopping mall was just a station away.

The hotel itself was aging a bit, but it had all the basic necessities one would need. The rooms in the older West wing were darker than those in the East Wing although they were more convenient. The wifi signals were quite strong throughout the building. The seaview rooms had a nice view if the weather was nice.

Service was efficient and professional. The breakfast had a good variety but the quality was average.

All in all, it was a good place to stay, especially if one was not looking for luxury.

Room Tip: Look for rooms in the West Wing if you want convenience and do not mind the relative lack of lighting; if you prefer convenience when it comes to restaurant access, look for rooms in the East Wing. The East Wing is also newer.

Stayed here a couple of years ago. It's convenient to the metro and to Splendid China. It still offers good service and good rooms. I stayed in the old part of the hotel, where the restaurants and check in lobby are located. I prefer it to the East Wing.

Breakfast was adequate, but nothing more. If you have some spare cash, at 8:00 a.m. they start serving Cantonese-style dim sum in the hotel's Chinese Restaurant (华廷.) It's excellent.

One unpleasant discovery was that the small walking street 步行街 behind the hotel has gone upscale in the last couple years. The small, informal eateries there have redecorated and prices have risen a lot.

In the evening a lady played guzheng 古筝 in the lobby. Added to the ambiance. Lobby also featured a nice piece of 大理石 (Yunnan marble) framed above a planter.

It's 45 minutes from here to the airport by taxi and about an hour by metro.

Room Tip: I prefer the main building, but the East Wing is OK.

This hotel is value for money, clean, the staff is friendly even they don't speak good English.
Provide completed amenities, I have never seen any hotel provide so many room, bathroom amenities like this hotel before.
The breakfast is also good, I like Chinese porridge.
I think this is one of the best hotel in Shenzhen.
