We, two couples, spent a weekend in this hotel in August 2013. It's really relaxing and enjoyable. We got upgraded to the 12th floor with the extra payment of RMB400. I think it's a fair deal. In addition to checking in right away at 11am, we could also use the lounge which served snacks and drinks throughout the day and also an afternoon tea session at 5-7pm.
The view of this hotel was unbeatable in the vicinity. Rooms were spacious, clean and tidy. We love the bathroom the most. Staff were friendly. Good choices of food. We tried the Chinese Dimsum for the lunch on first day, 'petit' but tasty. We dined outside the hotel but regretted. It was crowded outside, the pavement was jam-packed with people leaving the beach after sunset. The vacation would be perfect without this congestion part.
Breakfast was satisfactory with good variety of choices. On second day, we had lunch at the lobby lounge, which was unbelievably quiet and relaxing. Even the food was good, we had spaghetti, pizza and spicy squid etc., all were delicious. The only disappointment was the draft beers were not cold at all. But finally, the in-charge agreed to change our draft beers to bottle ones, which were perfectly cool.
In summary, we had a lovely weekend in this resort. My advice is don't bother to go outside, it's a totally different world. Just stay inside the hotel, enjoy the pool and perhaps a dip in the ocean and savour the delicious food. I will definitely go back when I need to re-charge with time constraint as this resort is only about an hour away from Hong Kong!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Nestled on the breathtaking Dameisha seashore of Eastern Shenzhen, Sheraton Dameisha Resort is surrounded by Wutong Mountain with picturesque view of the South China. Fusing nature and the beauty of the mountains, the resort is embraced by flourishing subtropical plant and a huge lake-like outdoor swimming pool of around 4000 square meters. The harmony between the architecture and the surrounding nature defines expressive design aesthetics. All 370 guest rooms each feature a large balcony with sea view, where you can sit around, drink tea, free your mind, as well as enjoy spectacular sunrise, sunset and aquamarine sea landscape. The two-kilometer golden beach, where you can step straightly from the base floor, paints a warm and romantic vision outside the city. The 12-storey main structure was designed by the famous Terry Farrell & Partners (England). Inspired by a soaring dragon guarding the South China Sea, the “dragon head” of the building is supported by six huge pillars. With floating auspicious clouds, the “dragon” seems ready to fly up high and glide in the air. The vault design of the lobby depicts a dazzling pearl inlaid on Dapeng Bay. The ingenious idea of a dragon embracing a pearl fully expresses the essence of Chinese traditional culture. When you step inside, the fresh and transparent modern component against a layout of five traditional Chinese elements makes you feel propitious, relaxed and happy. ... more less
