This is an inexpensive hotel very close to the railway station and border crossing from HK/Kowloon. I walked to the hotel upon arrival by train, and finding and getting to the hotel was a bit of a trial but once you know where you are going it's not a problem. The flip side is you are not in the heart of the city. The area it is located in is not the most sophisticated but it did not feel intimidating. The hotel itself is clean, a little bit dark and quite modern. Whilst many of the staff are certainly not fluent in English they try hard to provide good service and be accommodating. You just need to be a little patient. I booked trains and received the tickets through the business centre very efficiently which I found some much more expensive hotels refused to do. The restaurant/dining area is the worst aspect of the facilities I used, certainly from a western perspective. It was relatively expensive, the coffee poor , the food pre cooked, dry and unexciting by chinese standards. But I didn't get sick! There are plenty of local and western alternatives around the block including McD's (but that might make you sick). Overall for the price a very good option.
