“Perfect mini getaway from reality”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 via mobile

I must say I had my doubts on the quality of the hotel as I had never heard of it till now. But I was pleasantly surprised. I chose this hotel mostly because it was ranked 8th on here and it was the closest hotspring from Hong Kong. Didn't have to take a week off work to get to enjoy a hotspring mini vacation and neither did we have to break our bank to go there.

We paid was ¥860 for the business room including bfast and full use of the hotspring for both of us. Very affordable imho and the ferry ride was around hkd$800 for 2 return journeys. Just a point to note, the hotel is closer to zhuhai than Zhongshan port. So take the ferry from shun tak to zhuhai instead of tst to zhongshan. It's quicker and closer. Also a taxi ride from either ports would cost around ¥100-¥120 depending on which port u r at. We got ripped off slightly when we arrived as it was late and cold and didn't wanna haggle too much. So we paid ¥150 to the hotel and ¥120 back to the port. Just book the car from the hotel, it's more convenient than going out to the city and haggling prices there.

The hotel was very nice and the staff all spoke Cantonese and a little English. Rooms were large and comfortable but the bed was slightly hard. Buffet breakfast was good too, bacon, baked beans, friend eggs, and the usual Chinese dishes; Cheung fun, friend veggies, rice, Congee etc, their milk tea was lovely. Lunch is ¥68 for two with slightly less choice than breakfast but still very much worth the money. Dinner you have a choice of western restaurant or Chinese. We did both as we stayed for 2 nights. Both are great food and atmosphere wise. Clean too. You MUST try the baby pigeon as it was their signature dish and scrumptious!

Lastly, their hot springs were lovely. If you go between 11 and 3pm you can expect to have your own private pool but after 3 it starts getting busy with the tourist buses. But 3 hours of soaking is plenty! Pools range from rose, coconut milk, flowers, berries, Chinese herbs, mint and even a wine pool. All great dips. The massage after was quite expensive, and not totally necessary for me. It was ¥450 each including a little tip.

We didn't explore the city as we just wanted full relaxation. And we definitely got it. :)

All in all 4 out of 5 stars. Wouldn't go back but definitely recommended for first timers wanting a short break from Hk. :)

The room is very comfortable with the hotspring tub inside, nice bed, the dinner buffet is very nice with sashimi, crab and nice chinese food, There is a 5-star chinese restaurant on premise which is also very nice. The maintenance of the hotspring is better than average, can be considered one of the best hotspring in Guangdong.

I just got back from Zhongshan Hotspring Resort last night. I had a two day tour and spent my weekend in there. The location is quite isolated and quiet. The lobby is small not enough sitting area when there are group tours around. The room is newly furnished and quite comfortable. There are more than 40 hotspring pools but not enough staff to clean up towels. Full of used towels left by customers are everywhere in the hotspring area.Messy! The opening hours is another thing, 0900-0100, I went at 1000, the surrounding is even hotter than the hotspring pools! I guess once is enough staying here.

We only stayed here for the day. The surrounding of this place is well maintained and service people seem to be better than other nearby resort.

The hot spring is very fancy but too crowed at times. The spring pool is clean enough and service people are polite.Troops of people arrived on tour buses during the day to use the hot spring.

The dim sum of the Chinese restaurant is good and the portion is big. Overall, is not a bad place to stay but holiday time might be very crowed.
