“Don't miss it”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

This is where the classic China travel photos come from. The scenery is wonderful with steep hills rising from the valley floor everywhere you turn. We were lucky to get good weather even though June is the wet season and it rains essentially every day, although mostly at nights. However, the heavy rains meant lots of run-off and the river was a muddy mess. So if you want blue water in your photos, plan to visit during the dry season. Even with the muddy water, the cruise is spectacular. Get to the top deck for the best views.

“Beautiful cruise on the Li River”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

The four hour Li River cruise is a must if you're in the Guilin area. Beautiful scenery & a chance to witness life on the river.

Eat a big breakfast because you may not want to eat lunch on board.

You can take a bus back to Guilin after the cruise. We decided to stay in Yangshou for a night & I'm glad we did. In hindsight I would have stayed two nights. Nice little town. West street has a pile of restaurants, shops & bars. The Show of Impression Liusanjie is awesome.

“A must see for China”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

The Li River is most often viewed from the decks of a small flotilla of double decker tour boats and small rafts which set off from Guilin in a pack each day at mid morning. The boats soon spread out along the river and you enjoy a four hour cruise down to the city of Yangshuo.
En route, you are treated to the craggy hillocks of this region, truly spectacular knobs of rock and vegetation rising on both sides of the water. Check the back of the Chinese 20 RMB note for a preview.
Cruising the river is simply not to be missed.
All the boats appeared to be a couple of decades old with some wear and tear and the buffet included in our tickets and provided on our boat was not memorable, but you're there for the sights. Spend your time on the open top deck with your camera and have a bite in Yangshuo at the end of the trip. Lots of options there.
Our arrangements were made by Mr. Leo of Guiling Private Tours, who did a marvelous job, picked us up at our hotel and escorted us all the way. We'd highly recommend him.

the trip from guilin to yangshuo you will never forget. a quit, slow river cruise and all these fantastic
karst mountains with tropic vegetation.
a great attraction. do not forget your sunblocker and/or a hat.
for men only:
in the restaurant deck ask for the snakeliquor, a bottle with snakes inside. 1 glas is 30 yuan
and tastes good and your girlfriend/wife will enjoy your double power that night

“A must do”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

One of the attractions that you should do. Basically 3 deck cruise boats go with flow of river from Guilin to Yangshuo taking about 3 hours. Depending upon the weather you will have great views of karst formations. Excellent for photography (depending on weather). Lunch served before you get to Yangshuo. Unfortunately if you want a choice of hot dishes you have to leave upper deck viewing to go below and miss photo opportunities. Alternately you can take your chances and delay going below in which case the food has cooled off and choices may be fewer from buffet.
