The hotel was resort-style, with rooms scattered over a few buildings. They have a spa, recreation rooms, big pools and restaurants on the premises. Sounds good so far but here's the catch: the whole place seems like a work in progress. The rooms were incredibly dusty, the outdoor bathtub was so filthy it took me 3 washes before I let my son get in. And the original room I was assigned didn't have a lock on the glass doors that lead to the balcony so I requested to change as my room was on the 2nd floor and I didn't feel secure. It took 10 mins before they sent someone to verify that the door indeed didn't have a lock and then they asked me to go back to reception to get a new room key. Amazing! Service was non-existent. And you need to see the pool to believe it, there were lavae in there, I kid you not. Maybe the pool wasn't chlorinated but those little buggers were right at home. Needless to say my family didn't go for a swim but I noticed that later that night, plenty of people were in there. Maybe they couldn't see clearly because it was dark by then. All in all, the worst stay I had in Hainan. Luckily it was only for a night.
